War! War! War!

Ok somethink has to be done to make this game more attacking. Hardly anyone attacks anyone anymore and when they do its just for naq. Gone are the days when there were massive alliance wars. So how do we do this? Any ideas?

The main reason for this is its just so expensive to attack, mass people. Why mass someone when i can buy 50k uu instead. Here are some of my ideas.

1) War turns : Can only be used to attack people to cause damage. No using them for raiding or getting naq. You cant trade or give them to anyone there just for you to cause damage to people.

2) Lower costs for weapon damage or just get rid of it.

i agree with the general idea of having turns which you wouldn't be able to trade and would cause you a lower repair bill.
but i strongly disagree with not being able to use this for raiding or farming purposes.
maybe we could put an extra attack specialized in massing people (you could use war turns for this only). would make it more attractive and effective to mass people. Basically it would have the same effect as a normal attack but the result would be twice as large. (i.e. you use 15 war turns for a massing mission and the effect would be as if you'd use 30 normal turns)

It has always been relatively expensive to mass people - now is not really any different - except that you perhaps have to save up some naq for repairs etc beforehand. And masssings do still happen - not too long ago the EPA/TSA massed the hell out of the top members of another alliance - it cost us billions and billions in repairs - but that is the price of war!

I like that wat idea. It could be like you can have max 1000 and you get them every turn (like spy turns).

I don't like this idea - the reason why there aren't huge alliance wars of late has more to do with the personalities involved, and the trend towards massive multialliance pacts.

but the point is that there are close to none (if any) significant wars at the moment.
the point of this would be for the purpose of massing mainly and reducing repair bills in the process.
This is seriously a must have in my opinion

Hmm....

I like, I like! :P

Now, correct me if this isn't what you said, its just a little unclear (a bit too many pronouns :D ... lol) and if it isn't what you said, consider it a suggestion :D

War turns are accumulated every turn and cannot be used to attack or raid someone in the standard sense... Thus, attacking should be renamed to "Pillage"... this may not have been in your post, but if standard attacking is just plain fighting, it will make just plain fighting more common, too.

When you attack someone with war turns, repair bill is either halved for you, halved for you & the defender, or just plain for all attacks repair bill should be lessened...

And I would also like to contribute some ideas...

1. Attacking does actually give rewards. You would not only recieve but also "deliver" double casualties, half of which will be prisoners should you win the battle (if you lose, they become prisoners to your enemy). Because of the doubled casualties, it is better to bring as small an army as possible, while still having the stronger force... So instead of using turns, you select what percentage of your force to attack with... 1/15th costing one turn, and your full force costing 15 turns. There would be a select box to avoid sending something.4503 turns.
2. Continued from the rewards idea, if the attack wins he will take a small quantity of "land" - meaning miners. Don't freak out... they would only take lifers, as all of them would be slaves, and the determined percentage could not exceed taking 700 miners. Just for a little bit of a reward.
3. Captured troops have their weapons "salvaged for X naquadah" stolen weapons would start at the bottom (better armed soldiers are less likely to be captured), and the money would contribute to:
4. If you win the battle with a smashing victory you also will take a small amount of naquadah. About one tenth of if you pillaged with 15 turns.

Just some ideas.

there is loads of massings in this game and plenty of wars just most of them are'nt placed on the forum like some alliances do

just get yourself a decnt warring alliance


and its pretty cheap to mass these days :lol:

maybe, in the event that it ever happens, we should have a server EVENT that results in war. like a schedueled 1 side vs 1 side war. where players are divided onto either side equally, the server records their current stats to a hard copy backup, and we have 3 days of all out war with no ppt. attack is raised, raid is unrestricted, and we fight. then after it is over, the winning side (determined by gains/losses/damage) is recorded. then the game resets to the recorded copy before the war, and those on the winning side get some sort of bonus.

That just sounds like a 3 day quantum minus the bonus
