Raiding

I have done a few raids on different ranked people with 0 defense!
what i'm trying to work outs is how can you maximise the amount of enemy units you capture?
I did a test on 3 different people twice and came up with completely random amounts of troops captured which varied from 7 up to 319.
Is there a certain trick to capturing an absolute boat load of troops?
I dont condone this but I'm in dire need of troops

1. put them at war
2. be sure they have a large amount of UU

I don't understand the variables they seem way out of hand...
you sure they had an equal amount of UU?

top 3 factors that influence raiding:
1. UU out.
2. Declare war.
3. Luck.
Raid amounts vary between 1 and 3%. judge your amounts off that.

Personally I won't bother unless they have over 30k uu out, I have enough UU farms that if one isn't high enough I can just hit a different one.
Turns

I got the big three, but how much will turns used effect the haul of UU in the raid?

15 turns will get more uu than 1 turn
Ranking difference

First, thank you for your response to my last Newb question. Now I have another!
Since writing the last I read something in a thread in another forum that led me to believe that the ranking difference between the two players involved might influence the effectiveness of the raid....
so, I brought my newbie question to the newbie forum. Does it and to what effect? They were talking about selling defense to drop ranking for some attack. What's up with all this?

I wouldn't sell defense. If they are 0 defense farms, you can just drop your strike way down and still get a good haul. Also it would cost less to repair after the raid(s). I sold all but 100 attack weapons for right now, but I still have the attackers trained so I only have to buy more weapons to build back up.

1) - Spy to see how much UU they have
2) - Declare war to the target
3) - Luck
Hope this helps

personally i would advise u to go for UP...raiding only temporarily increases troops. ^.^

1 turn and 15 turns will get you the same ratios, but also with the random factor so it may appear sometimes that 1x15 gets you more than 15x1.
Rank difference does not seem to be a factor at all.

After raiding a LOT of UU, I have determined that rank does NOT influence raid gains at all. Btw it is more effective to raid/farm inactives with 1 strike weapon as it costs 30k to repair from max dmg and only 150-500k to replace.

How does it only temporarily gain UU? I ve roided easily over 1 mil without going down but 10k or so....
