can anyone tell me what this does, like all of the advantages and disadvantages of having it on the different levels??

it increases ur covert defenses by a percentage but takes that same percentage of your income

And for your information, the critical alert level equals about another full spy level.

And just to emphasize, it only applies to covert defense, not covert offense(spy/sabbing on someone else by you).

THe realm alret level increases ur defensive covert power i belive the multipier at critical is 1.7 so it almost doubles ur covert defenseively making sabotaging u harder , Also even if somone does manage to getthrough ur spies if u are on alret u have a chance to see who it was and take action (this was implemented because a lot of gutless players were sabotaging people and hiding their identities and it was frustrating not knowing who ur attacker is ) I'd recommend setting alret when u go to sleep at night taht way u are safe and u genarte less naq ergo u get attacked less if ever ergo u pay less in repair costs when u log back in
