Or even a message on the command screen at the top saying "you have uncompleted Trade Broker trades" or something like that until they've been cleared

dont see why its not there already.
i was shocked when i had my first trade that i wasnt notified i had a pending trade.

this would be key - I almost missed a trade, because I didn't realise the guy had set up the broker. A pm would be perfect.

I agree it would be handy. But on the other hand, don't you people usually barter over a deal before putting it on the broker?

I see your point.
But with time differences, it is good to know as soon as you log into your account, whether or not the trade has commenced or not.
Also I use the system as a tool to leaving resources for clan members.

The only problem is you do not know when the trade has been initiated, even if you have an agreement. We get a message once a transaction has been completed, so this would be a very simple upgrade I would think, making the game a bit more user friendly.
