Internet Explorer is a terrible browser, you only realise it when you try somthing different, unless you use netscape or aol which is even worse than IE.

Firefox

Well, I use Firefox, and I've never had troubles with the browser locking up in game. I remember the bad old days before the server upgrade, MySQL errors galore, but those problems affected everyone :)

Are you using the current version (1.04)? What sort of extensions are you using? I have: Chatzilla, Disable Targets for Downloads, abcTajpu, mini-T, DownThemAll.

Also, are whatever extensions you have themselves up to date?

Just tossing thse out as guides for you to troubleshoot with.

As for the question of why not use Internet Exploder, well, I'm tired of stealth attachments and drive-by downloads, and all of the other open bungholes left by MicroSloth design, that haxors can ram things into.

MS's best move into helping the average user was when they gobbled up Giant to get the antispyware program they're now calling their own. It's *very* effective. If you don't have it, GET IT. I'm just dreading the moment it goes from beta to production, i.e. when they start charging an arm, a leg, and two pints of blood for the priveledge of using it.

this used to happen to me at home. THe pages just wouldnt load no matter how long you waited. So i would switch over to IE and it would work fine. After about 10 mins, i could go back to mozilla and it would work. this hasnt happened for a week or two though.

Well, maybe it was a setting issue that's fixed itself. Don't give up on FF, it really IS a better browser.

it was random pages when it would do it, the progress bar would get to half way and that was it, nothing would happen, but usually it would have carried out the server sidecommand, just appeared to have problems posting back the page. usually closing down fire fox and relogining fixed it, but t here were a few times where i got **Filtered** loads of naq out tried buying weapons then it crashed n i got robbed......

I use Forefox 1.0.4 and sometimes the pages just won't load. This happens to me quite frequently (every second day) but happens only after I've been on SGW for more than 15 mins.

I usually solve the problem by closing Firefox and starting it up again... login again to SGW and everything works fine... until one or more pages refuse to load again. :?

I had thought this must've been a known problem... never bother searching the forum for it though
