This should probably be in the newbie / FAQ section... but you either shell out $ and donate to the site, or you spend a 2x market trade for 1/2 supporter bonus.

Iirc there is a checkbox prompt before you can complete the action
I will also add that you get a PPT when you ascend.

There's a checkbox. You can't "accidently" get yourself off PPT. It has to be a conscious effort.
