PPT cost should account for rank

Simple the higher ranked you are the more expensive a PPT cost. The lower ranked you are the cheaper a PPT cost.
The differences should also be significant, as to discourage top ranked players from easily accessing PPTs.
eg.
PPT = standard market rate X ((total active players / individual rank) X (???%))
Therefore the highest ranked player would pay a higher premium compared to the lowest ranked player.
Example for player Ranked 12 (assuming 4000 active players)
Premium set at 0.05%
rough estimate
(4000 / 12) * 0.05 = premium of 16.67
Example for player Ranked 2500 (assuming 4000 active players)
Premium set at 0.05%
(4000 / 2500) * 0.05 = premium of 0.08

Please have patience with my formula as I work on it (community).
Or if you (the community) can suggest a better one, please feel free to add it into the discussion.

Well this idea has one really major flaw...
Most of the powerful players dont care about rank, they want to be able to raid the smaller targets. So instead of helping the problem of faking a low rank it would just make more people drop rank.

thats is a proven...for me its really easy for me to drop and i am not a pwoerful player, to drop a few 2k ranks in 1 turn its simple as ...i dunno but its hella easy trust me....
how about putting army size into the factor(formula)

^^^
i was going to say that.
this plan may not work because things based on rank change, as of what was said in the quote. but also, wouldn't it increase the price of a ppt even more? wouldn't that put some weaker players in a tighter position? seeing as they may not be able to come up with the necessary resources for a ppt.

LOL - I was going to say it too - I've woken up since my last post!
As an example - yesterday I dropped my rank down to about 6000 rfom 150 - now I'm back in the top 200 again - so it could be easily done.
But it's still good that you are putting soem actual thought into your suggestions!

Actually it would decrease the cost for smaller players whilst installing the price for higher ranked players.
Anything multiplied by a number less than 1, as in the 2nd example.
It is a trade off, do you want rank or ppt. It would shuffle up the top 100, if it forced them down in rank just to take a PPT. I imagine that most wouldn't be bothered, as many need to be ranked up there for G&R etc.

wolf just proved that it would be easy to get back to a previous rank after hopping down...any suggestions on how to solve that?

I say it should be related to one's UP, since it seems that's the only true marker of power here...

well some small players have sold their souls for a 10k up so I don't think that would work I have always believed that true power comes from army size so that could be used (how many noobs do you know with 10mil army).

they can send away their units (untrain all their miners and spies and such). then get it back when they go on ppt.

true but then they lose 1% that isn't that profitable
