Ok, so i was thinking...goauld have shields...wriath dont. And goauld have energy weapons. something the tauri dont. so couldnt a goauld hatak like pwn a wraith hive ship?

cause the tauri cant

yeah i think they could with alkesh and gliders going after the cruisers and maybe 3 hataks per hive because mckay said there are 60 hives we've gotten rid of 8 I think so 52 and there are hundreds of hataks

I'd say yes. We had a very good thread about this on gateworld. And in the end I belive most thought goa'uld could win.

Why?

Simple. Goa'ulds do have shields. (Of course, we don't know how effective a Hive ship is against goa'uld shields, and Anubis' version or the old version) and Ha'taks are capeble of almost rapid fire(Proven by Baal when he destroyed Anubis's mothership)

If let's say a Ha'tak and a some Al'kesh attack a Hive ships they could inflict alot of hull damage in a short amount of time. And as we know, Hive ships can heal itself at some point but not completely. And only a few Wraith know how to effectivly maintain a Hive ship (called Caretakers) - If it's a race vs. race I'd bet on the goa'uld. Not because I'm a goa'uld in SGW (I'm a Wraith in chaos and other games ) but because Goa'uld also have great experince in wars.

We have goa'ulds like Apophis/Sokar (Probably Apophis but not know for sure) that can build super-ha'taks. The weapons on those would definitely be effective on Hive ships. (You probably remember what it did to Heru-ur's ship.)
Then we have Anubis, I bet he could give the Wraith a fight.

And the Wraith haven't upgraded there tech for thousands of years, they also sleep for a very long perioud of time. And have the weakness of being short on food most of the time.

Goa'ulds don't. And the goa'uld have proven to be able to upgrade there tech and advance.

Then there is the engines and clocking technology for goa'ulds. They could surprise the Wraith at any given time and outrun them. They could also just clocke al'kesh and have 1000 of them attacking each hive. LOL

There are many other reasons but I think this is enough ... for now.

This all depends on how we are gonna look at it. What's left of the goa'uld and fallen System lords in the show against what's left of the Wraith? Or the best of the goa'uld against the best of the Wraith.

The goa'uld would destroy the wraith, because

a)the wraith have no shields
b)the goauld have better weapons
c)the goa'uld would be able to field more soldiers into a battle
d)the wraith would not be able to find enough food
e)everyone hates the wraith
f)the go'auld rule everything

I agree that the goa'uld would win. But we don't know which race has better weapons on ships. You have to remember how big the hive ships are compared to Ha'taks. Daedalus class warships are like flies on the windshield for the wraith.

We might never know, but it would be a hell of a fight.

W T H??... Ok first off although the Wraith have very powerful ships... No shields. An although they claim to have 'numbers' so too do the Goa'uld. They're called 'Jaffa', remember? An if you mean hand to hand... Kull warriors would kick their butts sooo bad.

Wraith. The Wraith beat the ancients through sheer numbers, and we've seen what ancient weapons does to Goa'uld ships.

As far as the food sources... all the wraith would have to do is capture some jaffa, minor goa'ulds, and a sarcophagus. Regenerating food supply for teh win.

Cloaking? Ancient puddle jumpers can cloak too, and it didn't help them much.

yeah but the wraith are powered by pure hunger not even power.... its like a jenny craig meeting gone wrong they would try to feed on a goauld and our symbiote will jump out attach his superior being to the wraith and now behold a goauld wraith..... evil power and a hunger to match...

You forget the wraith and their 'numbers' have dwindled since the defeat of the Ancients, and as pointed out their technology hasn't enhanced hardly at all since then. Basically they haven't faught ANY wars in a REALLY long time... Doubtful they'd even know what to make of the Goa'uld seeing has they've never heard of a 'God'..

Also, no Jaffa cannot be used as food sources. While they are similar to humans - they aren't. An as we all know humans are all the Wraith have and can feed on.

Ancient tech still pwns the goa'ulds, and the wraith beat them. As far as wraith not being able to feed on jaffa, we don't know that, yet.

A goa'uld taking a wraith for a host would be intresting though... lol. Sucker hand on one side, hand device on the other....

And the fact that the wraith are so weak physically and the jaffa are really strong, and know loads of martal arts. We know the goa'uld would win in space, and their soldiers would slaughter the wraith on the ground. With the kell warriors, the wraith would be destroyed.
