I love the fact we do not allow PPT's in Ascended, after all this is a server for gods correct? Well, people often hide in ppt from loosing alot of resources on their account and such, ok it works right, but since it cannot be done here, what are people doing in place? Well, it's known for a long time now people use Vacation mode, some other people even ascend, then go into Vacation mode forever while they still play their main accounts. Therefore, I suggest we do one of three things, remove vacation mode altogether(Unfair to most but this is the ascended server!) 2) limit the amount of time granted on ppt by month or bi-monthly. 3) Make it so when you Vacation on either main or ascended both accounts go in vacation mode no matter what. This will prevent people from ascending for bonuses only then entering vacation mode and hiding from me! Please post a response to what you pick and why!

I think the idea of connecting the two servers' vacation mode is a good one. Really, if you're going on vacation and can't check one account, then you shouldn't be able to check the other either. And the use of "permanent" vacation was certainly not how it was intended. So yeah, I would completely support the idea of linking the two together.

I don't think people shouuld be penalized for going on vacation mode as it encourages people to ascend, many people wouldn't ascend if they couldn't go on vacation mode as they'd see it as not worth the stuff they lost in main.

As for PPT, I think we should allow PPT, but only a 1 hour ppt every week.

Then, they shouldn't have Ascended. The point of Ascension was to give the top players another, and different, server to play in. The motivation to Ascend wasn't supposed to be about what you can get out of it in Main. If you Ascended to get a head of other players in Main and not to play Ascension, then you Ascended for the wrong reason. If you don't want to play Ascension, then don't Ascend. The server is already too dead as it is.

And at one point, I had though that if it is EVER released, voluntary descension might help. But it won't because the people who leave will be the people who came to the server looking for something different and were dissapointed. The people who only want a bonus to their Main accounts will sit here in vacation mode and reap the benifits without any of the risk.

Link them, this is the best idea I have seen for increasing the enjoyment of the ascended server.

i'd be against that, solely for the reason that my ascended account can defend itself while i'm gone, but my main account can't. so i'd go on vacation in main, and leave myself open on ascendeds.

i agree that when one is on vacation mode so is the other. or the one way link. im curious tho y the main would be on vacation mode and not ascension... y not just delete the acc or give the resources to someone trusted and then get them back later :S

I disagree. There's no info on ascension for many people, so they try to ascend to see if they like it. You can't say "if you don't want to play ascension, don't ascend" because people don't know if they want to play ascension until they've tried it out for a while.

I don't think anyone would voluntarily descend. Right now, even if they decide ascension sucks, they still get some benefit out of it through the ascended races. If they got to ascension server and got nothing out of ascension, and lost everything they had and having a chance to start over like you're supposed to, and many do, instead of sending all your stuff to a friend so you don't lose it. "game for high ranking players" my ass, you're not high ranking anymore when you've got NOTHING but a new account. I think people would be pretty pissed off if they couldn't just ignore the ascension game, and rightfully so.

Actually, a number of players have stated on this board that if deascending doesn't entirely wipe out the account, they would descend when the option comes available.

And, let's face it, there are few secrets about Ascension any more. At the very least, most people know that it is not especially popular among many of its players. And so they know that it's a mixed bag.

sure, i'm willing to bet that a number of the 6-times-ascended-living-gods with 20k UP on main would be willing to take descension if it was offered to them without hurting their main account. And possibly a number of the "I ascended once and went back to my non-ascended race" people who have already rebuilt and don't ever plan on ascending again.

but just because you can find examples of people who are willing to do a certain thing, doesn't mean that it is the popular or correct thing to do. And I think that getting your main account reset so you can see if this other game that alot of people don't like is to your tastes, that's a bad idea if there are no other benefits to it.

There's so many ways I could state what I want, but not real way of doing it that i feel would not insult you or anyone else in any way shape or form. So I decided to say this, Forum himself states many things about the server and how it is supposed to work with decending and so on so forth. The point of the ascended server is to have active players up there and that up in this realm there are many more types of attacks. Way to compeltely destory your oppentants in differnt directions. This is a server for the people who pay the game closely, it is your choice to ascend or not. Therefore, with all the warning about being able to get decended and loosing all your stuff, if you have any doubt what-so-ever you should not ascend.

Just to point out how severely vac mode is being abused, even though I've mentioned this abuse to Admin back in November, a player was off vac mode last night (24 hours ago), was on this morning (14 hours ago), was off this afternoon (6 hours ago), and is on again right now... If that's not cheap, I don't know what is.
