solution to 'attack limit' implemented on all servers.

ok - there were 2 camps.
1) no limits, slows it down, etc
2) liked limits if you were online to defend or delay against massing instead of being totally helpless, and done in under a minute.

the scripts i have dealt with a couple of ways, and this was a 3rd line of defense. scripts attacking same person until some condition is met will still be addressed by this solution, but the 'attack each of 100 people once' will be left with the other 2 lines of defence :)

the solution:
def con rate increases the delay between any attacks on your realm. in effect your def con creates impediments on how quickly people can get in&out of your realm before the next wave of attackers can enter.

Currently the setup is defCon level of 10/20/30/40/70, divided by 5, seconds between attacks. SO the top defcon level of 70 would force a 14second delay between attacks on your realm. A 'none' def con is no delay at all.

so ... unless people PURPOSEFULLY slow down those coming at them by paying the cost in defcon, there are no limits. If people pay for the extra defence, then it is not me -but them - that are affecting your ability to hammer them :)

I think this addresses both camps, and adds a little to the game at the same time....especially in massing :)

Seems like a good compromise - you want a delay - you pay for it!

However - it is now late - and I will fully analyse this one when I am more awake!

Looks good though bud!! :-D

Edit - having had another quick re-read - I can't see any real downside.

like the solution, bu have somthing to say!

I don't know how those scripts works, but isn't posible some1 set the script to delay each attack in X secs? i mean, must be easy do that, place 1 more line on the code. att, wait 15 secs, attack again, and if u stopp to think, this upgrade will be helping who have scripts because for they don't matter if take 20 min or 8 hours, they r sleping. so time delay dont solve anything.

about the code system per attack will work great, but the "code per turn" will only make the "cheater" need to input the code than wait siting on the pc when the program farm for he.

MAYBE i'm thinking too outside the box here, but how about makeone "SGW explorer" how alloud use the attack as we all use it now, and how acess the site to another script/explorer will need to tape the code in each attack, must be some way to disable the code thing if the serv is been acessed by the "SGW explorer", only the noobs will be afected but take 2 weeks to u can use the market and get enouth turns to mass/rais some1, so that will be work fine.

i little of topic, but u loked the other treath when i was wroting this.

only problem I have with this, and the other changes is that inactive/ostracized accounts will probably be on critical. It would be nice if you got kicked off of critical after a certain amount of time.

forumn check your pm's please. ive thoguht up a way to stop all sleep scripters which must be 99% of them, and not just one type of script any script that accesses this server

Forum I love this new update and the hotfix with the seconds between attacks. Hopefully this will be the one step on fixing people stayng on PPT/Vacation all the time then jump off for 15 minutes to attack then going back. Hopefully next update will address this issue.

No Radium, the attack limit on effects you if you attack someone using a realm allert level, and your only stuck in the mud for X ammount of seconds depending on hiw high the alert level was.

and forum, the randomising header size really is the only line defence you need :lol:
