how to properly steal a planet

i am wondering for anyone out there who has gotten themselves a planet how much fleet strenght was required?

I don't think you will see anyone get any until tomarrow at the earliest.
Some did get them in the test server you may want to read thru that sticky....
I wish I knew also, just spent another 6billion on the fleets to try and be sure that I have enough.

I had a mothership with no weapons and I found a planet... I think that much is at least random... as for stealing them, I have no clue... and at this point, it is unclear wht the upgrades do for the planet.

Seems really the weaker the MS the better chance they have had at finding them from other post....

i had nothing and got 78 sightings. almost enought for 2 planets..

i had 77 sightings and got a covert/anti-covert planet...apparently 81 ground defenses couldn't beat 64 tauri attack weapons. u would think 81 could easily beat 64 no matter wat but it did almost 2X the damage. i'm not sure if ground defense facilities r weak or attack things r strong. the guy who stole it apparently doesn't even own the planet anymore >.<

I sent my fleet out, 24 hours later, they return and I don't even get a PM to tell me what happened? I dont understand at all...

I woke up this morning, i got a pm saying I found a planet
but in my attack log, I see that this guy stole it
