Planet Size/Defense Upgrade
Posted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 11:04 am
by me
I had a small planet, and for 30 million naquadah, I could get 3 million defense. I decided to upgrade the planet size, and the only thing that changed was the cost of defense. It went to 40 million naquadah for 3 million defense. The next planetary upgrade costs 1 billion naquadah, and from the first size upgrade, I speculate that the only change will be 50 million naquadah for 3 million defense.
What's the point of upgrading then? It's like I'm paying money simply so that I have to pay even more money. I'm paying for a downgrade in efficiency.

I believe that was mentioned somewhere else - there is apparently a limit on the opgrades you can stick on a planet, which is based on it's size. So, once you max out the upgrades, it'll have to be increased in size before you can get any more.

it sounds as if its best to raise your planet size only when needed, the immediate upgrades will make it more costly to max out the upgrades

Exactly...but this does take advantage of those unexpecting the massive waste of money...it should be set so that it only starts increasing the defense structure price when your planet actually needed to grow not when you purchased the upgrade...just an idea...

Well, many have already paid to teach the rest of us.
If people don't read why should forum go thru extra coding.
I'll give help also though: A Tiny Planet can only have 10 Defensive Weapons at 10M Naq. each.

that makes sence
i rember max on v small was 100
so going by that its works out like 10*10*10 etc etc
but thats a real night mare when you do the math on the naq
the max defence on a normal planet will be 30bil defence power
at a cost of 400,000,000,000 naq
and 10k bounus upgrades (if they work the same way)
