Can you be Ancient on main without Ascending first?
This guy is definately not Ascended but is an Ancient with Galactic Military Complexes, is that poss? Bug? I also suspect he is cheating.

Nope, you have to ascend in order to be an ancient, system lord, Nano T Master, or Tollan.

That's what I've always thought - I believe that's what it says in the Help and faqs, etc. Apparently it's not true though - there are players with Ascended accounts who don't have a title in red (Prior of, Living God, etc) on their Main account. Anyway, the person is not a cheat.

Its not a bug, you have to ascend to get the advanced race but you can freely choose to leave ascension (and your title and bonuses). Also you can ascend and keep a basic race if you want. More details are availible in the change race option after you have ascended

The only way to Unascend is by deleting your account, the 'Deascend' button doesn't and never has worked - it will be possible in the future but not now.
Anyway, though I still don't fully understand, I have been reliably informed that Forum played a part in this particular case. There is a bug as the account is clearly an Ascended account but has no race title.

A) In main you can chose to take a lower race and you lose your ascended title, yet you still have your ascended account. It'd be stupid to do so, because your next ascension still costs like it's a prophet, but you only get the prior bonuses in main.
B) The deascension button doesn't work.

A while ago there was a bug that made it so that when you ascended you lost your PPT early and if it was your first time ascending you didn't get the red letters that said, "Prior of the ____".
Ask Sphere about this, a few months ago he was hit for 86 billion Naq and a couple Hundred Thousand K UU when he ascended to Living God. {This was when that would get you from nothing to top 50 with the push of a button.} I believe the guy that got it jumped into the G&R range and got a 10K UP with a few spy levels. If it hadn't been for that UP he probably could have jumped higher up than he did.

I remember when ascension was young, that I did see advanced races without titles, no one had a title then. I believe it was early September

i was one hit by that bug too...even got hit for uu/naq while waiting for the ppt that didn't come until forum gave me it >.<
