Okay now that no one can see any part of the game exept for the homepage, No newbies are going to join because they dont see what the hell it is. That and they'll think its broken because it links them to the homepage when they try to go somewhere. If you were able to see the Rankings page and see some sort of what it is, you'd more likely join.

Secondly, The home page sucks. Period. Its poorly designed because its scattered all over the page and filled with meaningless and ugly junk. When SGW first started, the homepage was actually very good designed and looked halfway decent. If theres one thing in the internet which can kill your website, its the way the home page looks.

Oh Man I so agree with ya the first thing that happens to me is the 3 pictures at the top load up which is like em ok... It moves all the log in details down which is like ah come here lads....

And then its like WTH is going on... When I first joined I was like OH COOL A WAR GAME ON THE INTERNET ABOUT STARGATE CLASSSSSS..... And now that it has become part of my daily life im like em ok... Whats with all the stuff like....

Oh looky now, The homepage is full of red lettering which means nothing to a person checking out the site.

To all current SGW players the home page is pretty much daily viewing so we are used to seeing it. To prospective new players, the home page is the 'pull' factor to starting the game. People say don't judge a book by its cover (game in this case)...but that is exactly what people will do. If it has ugly packaging they are more than likely going to move on along to a competitors site which looks good. But then again people who sign up now are going to be quite a distance behind so they may not be bothered trying to play catch up, so there could be no need to change the home page.

I do agree, back in the day when ascension was a closly gaurded link, and ther was no chaos, quantum was just a lil link, there was no big red lettering, and you could see the ranking's box (and even click a name and see what it looks like, with zero covert) the game was far cleaner and easier to make a desision on yes or no to play I do agree a face lift could do some great work

I agree-the page is fine for those of us who know it-but I wouldn't have joined if a friend hadn't shown me everything... It needs to be given a serious facelift, with better links to more information, etc.

Of course ours would be different, but this is just to give some ideas. I think that if we could come up with details of what we wanted-instead of just "it needs to look better" the admin would be better able to implement it.

Why do you think we have 70k accounts???
People join w/out idea of how it looks, see, then never log back (or very rarely)
First page is indeed quite ugly with all that crap in red text etc
