Vacation mode

What if vacation mode only stopped your production of naq and uu? In theory, it should prevent attacks on your realm (as you have nothing of value to steal). However, there is nothing 'physically' stopping anyone from attacking you, only there are no benefits to themselves for doing so.

Essentially, you could go on vacation mode and not worry about getting your defence farmed away but you'd still be vulnerable to 'spite' attacks (so it wouldn't be as effective for hiding after attacking others). The downside would be you'd be unprotected from unprovoked spite attacks.

So what would be the point of having it at all? There are always people with grudges who would atatck knowing there would be no retaliation.

As I said, you would be susceptible to attacks for the sake of damaging your account. However, these unprovoked occurrences must be fairly rare, with damage due to farming making up the majority (90+%). This would take away the 90+% of damage, as well as allowing retalliatory grudge attacks.

Whether knowing the opponent is away would increase the odds of these attacks, and by how much... I couldn't say.

I think there have been lots of calls for vacation mode to be fixed recently.

Most people agree the 5 day wait may be overkill, but all the proposed reductions have their own flaws (can hide on PPT first and then vacation mode). My suggestion would make the 5 day rule obsolete, and people can leave their accounts on vacation mode whenever. However, they wouldn't be protected from malicious attacks (so not viable to hide from enraged enemies), but only remove the incentive to attack for resources (naq/UU).

I think this is a problem for which there is no perfect answer, and the system as it is is probably the best option.

Vacation Mode was introduced for exactly what it says on the tin: vacation/breaks from the game.

PPT used to only exist when buying SS or (at the time) Infusion Bonuses. Although the purpose of it has changed from the early days. PPT is now an integral part of the game and although it could be perhaps reduced so that you have less PPTs per month, I think it works well and is not generally abused.

Vacation Mode has however become an easy escape route.

Refresher wrote:in fact there is a perfect solution to hit-n-run , already posted it in another thred named vac mode WTH
basicaly the voc mode was introduced in most online games for the purpose
of handling emergencies,in SGW is was made a two-way aproach
PPT and vac .all is good except it allows a loophole for certain ppls
to escape retaliation.
here is the solution:
when pressing the Vac mode button the account is put into a "no login mode"
for 24 hrs after that the Vacation comes in effect.
for PPT the delay should be shorter , 12 hrs i think .. as its mostly used
for legit purposes.
the good part of this solution is that it allows true emergencies to be deal with
without crippleing the account or making it a farm, if retaliation will be done there's enough time in the 24 hr period the account is set on delay.

So basically you'd extend the minimum time (unless the first 'no-login day' counts as the vacation day...) someone could be on vacation for, although for the first day they would be unprotected?

I hate the fact that people have misused the games options so much that when i go on holiday at the end of this month I will have to stop attacking for 5 days before i go, so that means im gonna missout on 7 entire days of attacking and that for me is a fair few billion naq, im sure there must be some way that admin can make this new update a little bit more compatiable with us rule obiding players

You should be able to go on vacation mode but still be able to produce UU and turns but not naq

Some times you have to leave for a few days due to what ever reason and you either let everything keep building up and let someone attack you and hope they don't farm you or mass you ... should have a vote on it
