UP rising on it's own accord

I've noticed my UP rise by a small amount over the last couple of weeks without me even touching it. I purposely set it at 3.5k in order to keep ascension costs down. It's slowly crept up to 3,567 /day (which isn't even a multiple of 3?)
Explanation anyone?

All I can think of is either you have a UP planet, or as JIX suggested, you've been on PPT over the past few days?

NOTE: The Market Supporter Status is similar to the one you can get by donating to the site with currency, EXCEPT that it does not allow direct player to player transfers, extra Naquadah, extra turns or extra units - it DOES give the other bonuses (increased bank, PPT bonus, increased unit production, an extra race change), and the full market functionality.

I realise my mistake now. I have had a few PPT's in the last few weeks, which would explain what you guys have said. What I am curious about though, is WHY? Why does it give such a pathetic amount? (can't help but lol, it is a bit pointless)

gives you like 40 or something, might be a small amount for some people, but when you are upgrading in the 20k area, I guess it might be alot.

Actually my officer reported something like this, but definitely not PPT since she never goes on PPT after her first PPT to get market SS. She was trying to maintain her raw UP at a certain round number, either 2000 or 2500 (have to ask her again), and around 10 days ago she logged in and found that her raw UP has gone up by 3 and she was sure she didn't add anymore. Now she's raising her UP again to the next closest round number.

There was a time when it was a lot. And even farther back, there was a time when each PPT gave you a spy level. Just think what your spy level would be at now if that stayed around.

I remember that Hensenshi, the spy level was included in the $50 USS
But I can't still figure it out. I've been on PPT at least 5 times since leaving my raw UP at 3500 and it's only gone up by something and nothing, and also left it on a number that isn't a multiple of 3... Surely, the PPT bonuses should work from a percentage and not a fixed value, obviously to accomodate for the games economic fluctuation?
