I agree. The idea started in the Asgard Holos post. Read that and then respond here. 8)

My vote would be a no on this idea.

Inactive accounts are farmed more by the newer players than the older ones. So I believe this would hurt newer people more than older ones. The best 'farms' are often infact active accounts who make hundreds of millions if not over a billion naq per turn, but because they are active they atleast have some sort of decent defense.

So if you are an older player (like say KGC) this wouldn't hurt you much. Your 80+ billion strike isn't used for inactives but rather stronger active accounts that make a decent amount of naq but might have 20-30 billion defense.

Not to mention destroying the effectiveness of raiding would in turn destroy the one most effective(and probably only) way for someone to ever catch up in this game.

However getting rid of accounts with less than 5,000 army size and havn't logged on in 30 days would be nice, as they are just a bunch of wasted space.

The reasons why this will not happen are the following, which I think are said many times:

1. If you are inactive, and your account gets deleted, but then you decide to come back to the game, you would be very unhappy. Thus, in order to prevent this situation, the admins would have to keep backups of all of the accounts. Since they have to keep the info anyway, they might as well be farmable.

2. It makes the game look more popular than it is. When someone comes to this site and sees 50k ppl playing, they think omg!! I gotta play this game.

3. As already mentioned, if it weren't for inactive accounts, n00bs wouldn't rly have anyone to farm except themselves. Their progression would be slow, and their would be so much infighting that there would be more n00bs quitting the game even before they get anywhere.

And don't forget, the raiding that oh so many of us do would be seriously hampered or completely doomed.

what if ur on vac mode for more than a year cause some of us will be on vac mode for 2 years because we will be serving a mission for our church and won't be able to get on. anyway what i'm saying is don't get rid of ppl on vac mode but the inactive accounts go ahead :D

I want to add to this. If a player pays cold hard cash, at any point in their SGW career, it will be a customer service nightmare for the admins to clean up if their account was deleted.

You could argue that there would be a backup, but unless backups of account were periodically taken of all accounts it still wouldn't cover the resources that build without player interaction(ie. UU). I don't think taking a backup of an account and then deleting it would work because someone might argue that the account they paid for would have been working for them while they were away, to make UU, etc. and the backup they have now isn't reflective of what their account would have been like if it hadn't been deleted.

quite simply, they should log in then...

however, a simple fix would be just to put the account on vacation, not delete it.

Well, as a first step they could get rid of all the ostracised accounts.

Or atleast kick them off the PPT I mean come on.

the ostrasized accounts should remain as a reminder to others. Any ostrasized accounts that are deemed "unbalancing" to have as a farm, are deleted.

That is the current way, and i like it.

Refresher wrote:ok this ideea deserves its own topic as it came along in various others topics
as a sollution.
Benefits :
1. more wars - players will have to hit active players in order to aquire resources.
2. stat builders will have to play - farming or raiding will be limited by your
ability to detter others to hit you back.
3.searching for targets - will be easier as u wont have to scroll hundreds of pages of inactive players with 100 army size.
4.More fun

Cons:
raiding and farming will become more difficult and your target might fight back.

PS:Definition of inactive = not logined for 30-40 days.

i agree with points 1,2 and 4 ... but for the 3rd i don`t ... the inactive accounts can`t be deleted ... don`t matter if are to many .. will be good for raiding and farming .. and also alot of ppls don`t play the game when they made the account ... they may start latter.I did the same .. i started to play the game after almost 1 year of inactivity, so that`s not such a good ideea.

yes, make a backup of those accounts and when someone tries to login after months of inactivity then either make a new account (if backup was not made) or just send out confirmation emails that will reactivate the account when clicked on.
