What I just suggest is just like Mkt reset, but for planets, not the one already owned, the planets you got from travellling
I dont mean the planet owning limit of course.

I am not convinced that there are NO planets out their - I haven't checked - but I seem to recall reading that once things settled down it would take A LOT of attempts at finding a planet - and I seem to recall the number being quoted as around 30 - 40. Again, from what I recall, there is an element of randomness - so the figure quoted above is based on the random element.

I don't recall it saying that.
Nor do I actually recall seeing anything that said their were a limited number of planets.
Anyway - that is not the point - the point is what it said when it first came out - and it is along the lines of what I said in my fiurst post.

Great Idea, in all the trips my MS has been on not once has it found a planet!!!
I think if our ships had sectors to explore say 10,000 as a number of sectors to explore your MS would only be able to explore that one sector.. That way you know that there is no disappointment in the fact that no matter how many times your MS goes on a trip you will never run out of places to explore..
Also planets can be abonded in certain sectors and due to "stellar drift" (1 sector per 48 turns) drift into a different sector.. And just so ye know a sector in space is a hexagon or 6 side shape.. So then you have 7 posibilities to find your planet etc etc...
The current system, I cant believe that my MS can't find planets.. There is no luck in that haha...
Oh and you could have messages on these reports
The sector you decided to explore was filled with ionised dust thus hampering your ships sensors, your ship had to return to base for repairs. no planets were found due to this malfunction
And so on..
Oh and the sectors would have to be inputed manually ranging from 0-9999
What does everyone else think?

seems like 9,999 more things admin would have to do to make more planets, besides all the other stuff in the "hexagons"....
just increase the percent chance an ms will find planets by say......10%? maybe 15%

Yeah, something needs to be done.

Well - I sent my mothership out twice last week - the first time since the update was introduced.
First time - nothing
Second time - planet found
So, they are out there.
I'm intrigued by J.S.'s idea of sectors - needs some expansion though.

Lucky you!
Each time there was either "no" planets either like 4-6 planets and none took for me
I'll send it again to see

maybe its from all these people who steal a planet, then abandon it
