Spying Bug

I sent all my units to spy on someone (I could see their army size and Naq, normally meaning I can spy on them undetected). On the first spy I could see most of their stats including Covert power which was slightly less than mine was at the time, however when I went to spy on them again (10 seconds later, also with the full number of covert units sent) I was caught! After talking to the guy and getting an alliance member to spy on him I'm even more confused as to why I was caught because he hadn't increased his covert even in the last day and wasn't even on Nox or Defcon.... Can anyone offer an explaination please?

I dont know much with the spying calculations and percentage of being caught or anything, but you said it was only slightly lower than yours, every time you spy you get different results with what you see, so maybe he caught you luckily, as your spies cant do everything exactly the same and go unnoticed every time if there covert action is near to yours.
Thats what i think it is anyway

I have spied on people with coverts almost three times mine thousands of times litterally and have never been caught before. This person had a LOWER covert, wasn't on Nox or Defcon, was Asgard, etc etc... There is NO WAY he should have caught me, unless my whole understanding of spying is flawed of course

I done something similar to this about 11 months ago when i first started and couldnt realize what in the world happened. Then i realize that on the second recon I accidentally sabbed instead. Sure you didnt do that on your second try lol

Yeah I thought of that but according to my logs it was a failed recon so I pressed the right button.

yeah i accidently did that sab thing once (very painful at the time)... the only other thing i can think of was that you mighta accidently typed in the wrong number of spies to send (missed a number or somethin), otherwise it does seem weird

According to my logs I sent the same number both times (which was everything) and it was a Recon mission not a Sab also according to the logs.

maybe the random factor killed u?

I didn't know there was a random factor, and why would it get me now for the first after many many thousands of recon missions never being caught?

for the same reason someone would find a shiny Pokemon in one of the games, someone got lucky, in this case, the person you reconned

No random factors in this game.. none like this anyway..

Always send 999999999 spies to recon, meaning max number that can be inserted into the field. Then you shouldn't have problems like being caught. (as long as you see enemys army size and amount of naq, of course..)
