i've read the page for when you want to change races (as in from ancient to nanotimaster). i still don't understand if you lose anything. if so, what do you lose?

No, you can change from one advanced race to another and lose nothing. On the flip side, you also gain nothing.

But if you change back to an unascended race you lose a lot!!!!!

NOTE: You can change advanced race to advanced race as long as you have race changes left to use. There are no ill effects.
BUT - If you change races (to a 'basic' race) you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE BACK to an advanced (post ascension) race -- at least not without reaching ascension again.

Advanced Races Benefits:
*Bigger weapons
*Each time you reach ascension level...either initially or with each ascended infusion -- you get a 5% bonus to covert, 5% bonus to attack, 5% bonus to defence, and 5% bonus to income.
(If it was you 2nd 'infusion' after initial ascension, you would be at 15% in all stats, as an example...)
*Be the envy of all basic races!

If you change races to a basic race, and choose to use an advanced race again on repeat ascension, you start at the minimum 5% bonus ... even if it is your 2nd, or 3rd, or 5th, time to reach ascension!
In short - you lose all cumulitive bonuses when you change races away from an advanced race! And cannot choose to be that race again until ascension is obtained again!

this is the actual thing from the game.Read and you might find out a couple things
