No, I am afraid that that is not true, your realm alert level is nothing to do with you spying on the opposition. Your realm alert level protects you from enemy spies but does not help your spies at all when they are in action.

nope stargate right realm alert does not help your opposition or covert action it helps strictly your covert defense

covert action is both combined

Ummmmm guys.... he didn't ask about upping his covert level, he asked

I took that as: How can I increase the chance that I will stop spys and saboteurs (sp) from doing damage?

I answered that question... realm alert... simple question, simple answer. Read the thread before you write a reply.

So, to keep spys out, you need to increase your covert power by buying more covert levels, and training more spys. And you need to set your real alert higher. All these will increase the possibility that you will catch the spys before they do damage.
