Give all planets an ID number, that way when its stolen you could just punch in the ID to find out who has it.

Oh this Idea is a good one . It can tell you if the owner abandoned it or passed it on. Good Idea.

they most likely do have planet ids, we just can't tell what they are. Otherwise how would the planet names always get updated in the attack logs?

bad idea, why?
It would mean top players get.. well they get control of planets and more power.

how would top players get control of planets that way?
one way planet ids could also work would be for a player to be able to find it with the id only within the last week or so, as that way players can try to take it back a few days, and if unsuccessful that time, one would not be likely to manage it anyways... it would also make it harder for planet thieves, as the final location of the planet would be known, and therefore the top of the multi chain could be found, instead of just the first thief who took it, then immedeatly lost it...

This would end many conflicts:
1. Planet stealing multis
2. Planet stealing n00bs
3. Planet stealing multi n00bs who have weak fleets yet try to take my planets anyway
4. Planet stealers in general

So basically, what you want is a link that takes you to the current owner of the planet? Sounds reasonable. You could just put it in the battle report of the attack in which it was stolen. That way, when the battle report gets cleared, so does the link. That should give reasonable time to get it back.

You can see planet id's?
Maybe a ranking list, such as when you click on 'attack' could be implemented, obviously not showing the stats etc. Just the same as when you search for someone using their id, you would do that with planets.

or, another solution (im just throwing this out there) have a seperate log book/ page/ thingy for planets that were stolen from you and they, would be tracked for a week/5 days/ whatever.
they wouldnt include battle reports, but look something like this
planet xxx stolen by yyy at zz:zz
planet xxx reported at qqq at cc:cc
planet ppp stolen by ttt at uu:uu
planet ppp retaken
what ya think, should i start another suggestion topic for this?

As I have posted in many other planet ideas this most likely won't be accepted due to the fact forum has mentioned before planets are not suppose to be perminent fictures in a realm but are suppose to be stole by everyone.

that is why the id's would only be available for a few days...

if u do this then the planets get dominated.
if u can track down whoever has ur planet and u go an take it back, then eventualyl there wont be plaents anymore since their all taken away, and as soon as someone loses one, they just wait and track it right back. no, bad idea, why?
because planet stealing and then hidding it won't work
