Skins?

Can we upload different skins in this game? Lots of other mmorpgs offer this feature, so i was just wondering.

well if you made em yourself im sure you can offer them to sgw crew and if they like it more then the current ones, they might put em in for all players

Well I personally play one of those games that enable you to pick skins.
But they won't help you in SGW! There are no other pictures then the control panel and the background. I REALLY doubt that ANYONE would change it.
But bring in unit pictures and MS pictures and animated battle scenes! THEN you would need skins!

more image's = more lag its ok for the games you play because they dont have 60k accounts (guess juan and ned dont play em)
but it would lag sgw to hell and back plus its a waste of time when forum could be working on making game play allittle better and not working on the eye candy

no, you dont need animated stuff or complicated mothership pics, you dont need to upload skins either
i just want the menu sking and probably the banner changed, is really a waste of space? why they cant use some of the photoshoppers arround here to improve that?
u know what would be cool? if you could upload a photo of your mothership, or a little signature that shows when your watch the player id, i mean, small details would make the game a hell better and atract more active players into it

i mean, look at this forum, solaris skin, i would be tired of being arround if the forum were just gray lines in a white background and just plain colors

maybe they could be a possibility.
consider the fact that not all 60K accounts are playing, so that cuts down on bandwith usage.
next, so not every new person could D/L new skins every 5 seconds, admin puts a set time before you can use them, like the time before you can use market or geet a CO.
also, the skins could be saved onto the persons computer, so it wouldnt be re-downloaded every time someone hits refresh.
and to further cut down, skins made by other users could be uploaded, but would cost a certain amount of Naq, UU, or turns.
so is it a possibility?

just like avatars, have them saved on something like photobucket and then have the option to use url links

just to clarify - what these sites do is that if you want to use a different skin, you download it, you can change it and then you can have to option of using the graphics from your computer so your not actually downloading this "eye candy" so it can actually lessen the lag if people use the graphics from their computers instead of the SGW server
