Interesting thought.

In stargate when a goa'uld parasite takes a host, the host is "suppressed" but it's been said many times that they are still aware of everything. So what I was wondering is what if over the hundreds of years that the host is alive and aware, they gain enough knowledge or a pure of heart to ascend, there's no reason they couldn't, Anubis could ascend so why not the host of a goa'uld. Just wondering what others think.

they will only gain the knowledge that is evil, as the gua'ould symbiote only does evil...

But the symbiote controls the body not the mind, apophis's host wasn't evil, sarah gardner wasn't evil, so from the 1000's years of expirencing things they could take away an understanding of certain events that is different from what the symbiote thinks. But the more likely case is the pure of heart scenario. If oma really hated the goa'uld, she could've just ascended their hosts and left the symbiote to die.

but, the ancients would have stopped her. it is impossible for a goa'uld to ascend, the only way that anubis was able to, was because he tricked oma somehow. the goa'uld does control the body, yes, but it also controls aspects of the mind. otherwise, it wouldnt be able to make the body move, or speak or any of that. the host, is essentialy asleep. if you recall what happened when apophis was dieing. the egyptian boy came out, the last thing he remembered was being in ancient egypt (or something like it, not saying that it was here on earth). the writers i guess kinda contradicted themselves there lol
