Log - In Updates

OK first off I want to apologize if this is in the wrong area. If it is .. please move it to where it needs to be.

However, first of all we had to do numbers to log in.. which is 10000000000 times better than having to put in a number to bank. But then there was a time limit put on till you could log in.. mind you one of the locations I log in from is dial up.. do you have any clue how long it takes for alllllllllllllll the images on the page to download, and of course the images start from the top down so by the time it gets to the numbers to log in, the page has expired.

And now I have to count the dots on the dice and hope if i'm not pissed that I can see the proper numbers on the dice, let alone get them entered in time before I get an expired page.

Oh and should I mention how much this all sucks when you are logging in and the turn changes..

UGHhhhhhhhhh keep it as numbers PLEASE and move all the graphics below the log in so that the log in pops up first. I don't care about the other games, I get on that page to log in to my account. :?

I'm on dial up too. So i know what you mean. What differance does the dice actully make?

Maybe if admin could change the numbers to load first, that would help alot.

I agree, I have enough trouble with my eyesight as it is, and the dice thing literally hurts to count out...let's not even start with the fact that I have dysfracsia so in order to play this game as is, I need assistance with the maths...It's almost discriminatory after a fashion. Seriously, there are better methods to validate logging in, and imho the every half hour crap is completely unnecessary. Inconvenient in fact, when you take int account that some of us log in from work, which alone makes it a colossal pain in the ass to have that kind of protocol. methinks there is an air of paranoia.

Then lets get back to the eyesight. Not only have you replaced the number system with a graphical display, but you havent even given an audio option to people like me. Seriously...is the intent to run me out of the game? because I'm close enough as it is already.

if after 1 day of logging on with them u actually have to count the dots you have some other issues to look into

cuz you should be able to know the number with just a glance after you count the harder dice (that dont look like normal die faces) once or twice if you must do that to know the number

but why would u ever have to count the 9 die, and im being serious here

I agree with everyone, I also recomend getting Mozilla Firefox + the adblock extension.

I blocked all of the images on the login page, and it loads a lil faster.
I also blocked almost all images on the fourms, also loads faster.

And I started doing that before I left Iraq / got back on dialup at home.

The main reason I am finding the dice irritating is because they are not like regular 6 sided dice, if they only went from 1-6 I would be perfectly fine with them.

I'd actually like to know what the point of this update is? Is it to make it more difficult for automated login? Because I can pretty much guarantee you, it's a lot easier to write a program that counts dots than it is to write a program that recognizes digits. So, why the change?

the newest microsoft OS does not come pre-loaded with a program that counts dots.... it does come with one preloaded to turn text/number images into normal (codable) numbers/text....

plus - if i change it every month or 3 ... (next - count the chickens?... not sure...) - it really really annoys those that try to sell 'sgw cheat' programs.... (yes, they're out there....)

one final comment - my ultimate goal is a graphic gate that you need to 3digit dial... then it turns... then you're in :) ... but until that, the changeup will happen to keep cheaters out (read: die on the iris....) and although maybe not intuitive at first, let all the real players in :)

having only one page to deal with security wise, is far better than a security check each page load (ie bank) and if anyone thinks the timeout is too short -that is easily fixed... and i will do so now...

seriously - one shot security, stop cheaters -- seems a good thing to me :)

plus if i change it every now and then, it really really annoys those who cheat :) plus allows me chances to catch them as automated behaviour is very very predictable given a changed environment and an 'old' way of acting... and i like that..... and believe me- every change catches a few more, and prevents a LOT more than are caught.
