Hello everyone... today i was playing ascended and got an idea...

When i looked on the top of the page banner it doesnt looks too well, actualy its in very bad shape...

My suggestion is that the administration should make a contest for every top of the page banner, the ascend picture, the login pictures (the ones u see on the main and on the ascended login screen). Aaaaaand the menu pictures need an update too, i think they all could look out much better.

And why i push this idea?
We on this forum have lots of great sig makers, who can make the new versions of the ingame pictures...
I think there should be a contest where everyone can put their version of the pictures and we can vote on it... and the admins will choose from the top 3 voted version, which they like the best...

all we need to start is to place some guidelines by the administration: eg: -no pictures from the show (as i know there were some legal things in the past and the sg pictures went off).
-The size of the picture (in pixels, and the maximum file size)
-the pictures need to be changed... (i think all menu pic, login pic, ascention pic, and the top page banners...

After all there should be a prize for the winners... eg 100k uu for a winner picture.

All details are changeable i think...

How everyone thinking about this idea?

A very interesting idea, and it has lots of promise. One small note, legally I don't think any of the pictures used can be copyrighted in any way though. Not just from the show, but from everything that has a copyright on it, except for images that creators have permission to use in the suggested competition. This restriction then really limits what people have to work with.

Right now, I like this idea, and it would be interesting to see what the community creates. What are you suggesting the winner gets? You haven't mentioned prizes.

I did mention prizes.... :

-100k uu for the winner of each category
-50k uu for the 2nd and 3rd voted (because in my idea the administration choose from the first 3, and the remaining 2 have to get a prize too i think...

all values can change of course...

I think the entire stargatewars.com homepage needs a total renew as it looks pretty poor compaired to other mmorpgs that are out there. Perhaps let people make HTML designs and submit those.

The point is there needs to be some serious redesigning, and i think we could profit from the bunch of experts playing... who can convince admin?:D

I thought the homepage looked alright, but the general layout of the in-game thing and the banner were a bit annoying.

The menu is a complete scrap... just look at the market button... even the font aint the same....

Or realize the thing, that the ascended menu bars ara badly modified stard race menus....

In top of that, the top paga banner is damn bad especialy at ascention..... its far down from the quality of this game....

the prize would be as follows:

the pride and bragging rights of having your banner on the main sgw's home page.

at least, thats what i think it should be.

Thats what i ment. i ment the homepage as in http://www.stargatewars.com was alrite.

I could redesign all the buttons.. but I doubt the chance to do so would ever come up

Fine to me... the point of the whole topic is, to just make something happen....
I dont care how the administration thank this to the desingers, but your idea is at least as good as mine, if not better... actualy i forgot about that version...

All you mentioned for a prize was 100K UU. I thought theere was more to it. Please don't be so tough as well. I'd bet there are a lot of things that Forum/admin are doing to keep the game up and running, along with the other games made by Kingdom Games.

I think this is a very good idea. There are a lot of ppl in our community who are a very good designer and SGW rly needs some new design. I don't have any problem with the current one but it's boring

we wouldn't mind if they were replaced, especially those banners on the top, like the one on chaos, it is both boring to look at, and hard to read...

it would also have been better if the graphics on the menus were redone, as the background for the asgard page has nothing what-so-ever to do with norse mythology, which is the basis for the asgard race...

Although the image/link for asgard headquarters has some norse runes on it, they are just random, and do not mean anything... or at least we can't think of anything that J Ë P Z S T could mean...

I would like everyone to note that the banner at the top changes size to help deter cheating, all banner makers would need to make multiple banner sizes varying in height.
