A new enemy...

For centuries, SGW battles have raged between waring players...what if an artificial enemy was created to add more variation to the fight! These enemies would attack us for naq to build their realms, and we could fight them, in addition to fighting normal players. These artificial accounts would form alliances, mass, sab, and do all the functions of normal players. Of course, they wouldn't be given any advantages, but their actions would totally be controlled by an AI.

To sum this up for the people who don't understand, a new race of enemies, totally controlled by programmed functions.

Imagine a game where you could mass real people and enemy AI accounts alike

Actually Zeratul, ballabird's idea is not just to create a random few, but an entire race of them, and for them to do more within the game.

I like it. Make it so they can have race bonuses tho, maybe make a race up or use a really mentioned race from Stargate? Could have a Mothership bonus OR UU production Bonus (Helps raids) etc...

Heh.. to compare it to classis graphic MMORPG's... there you can play PvP (player vs player) or PvE (player Vs Enviroment) as in against monsters controlled by AI. Maybe that could work, but I think it would be ahell a lot of work, when it comes to coding.

i agree it would be a hell of alot of work but i do think it is a good idea and mayb the new race could be the ori so it will parallel the tv show

it would be lots of work but i do feel this game needs something really new something big like a 5th race. perhaps it could be based on the number of accounts that play, so if we have 50k players we have 5k npcs

I guess my only concern would be how to "dumb down" the AI accounts. An AI account could auto-bank on the turn, continuously scan for the best targets, never get caught with naq out because it lives on the server. Not to mention the AI alliance would be like one huge multi. AI players would be on 24 hours a day and would be unstoppable. And what happens if you make the AI alliance angry? COME ON HERE, AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SEEN TERMINATOR?!?! :D

Terminator jokes aside, I do like the idea of having a target I wouldn't feel guilty about hitting for the third time in a day. It would be something I would love to see on q first though.

Walks off muttering to himself while shaking his head, brilliant, lets teach the machines how to fight us and then let them practice. ;-)

yes the AI would need to be dumbed down

have you seen new accounts get up in a few months?

imagine a AI doing that in weeks instead

although a dumped down one, that has an equal skill to the average sgw player (raids a little, farms a little, trades a little) would be nice

Intresting..

I would like too see how well a none dumbed down AI account would do in 3 weeks of starting.

I like AI stuff :P

Remember the LOEL ai commanders Legoless i spent hours making those little buggers buy chopeprs n attack with them :P

ahh ai subroutines are fun unless your already drunk then its a nightmare

at least that way the stronger ones to face are certain not to be in Coalition of Paragons...

if it were possible, this could turn out to be great...

perhaps there could be different types of AI accounts; like Farmer, Masser, Farm, Raider, Raiding ground, sabotage, anti-spy, etc...

hmmm, who cares about the AI getting stronger, you do know that if ALOT of people worked together we could knock them back down.

Also to answer Slovenec. The AI can follow the rules of alliance wars. Decalre war, after 5 days see who is victoryous. OR program a validation rule, any lower than such and such to stop massing or sabbing and stuff.

perhaps make the AI killable you dont mass and let it rebuild you mass then execute :D :D :D
