I was wondering if a plan to update and improve the GUI was on the cards?

I mean this as a constuctive suggestion, but perhaps integrating the forum into the game would be cool for example, and making the whole interface less messy?

I just think that if everything were more to hand, people would be inclined to play alot more, rather than have a load of browser windows open at any one time. I also reckon if the ascended server were integrated into a main gui so we had access to that panel on hand, it would encourage people to build and nurture their ascended accounts.

I've always thought it would be a good idea just to have 1 login screen - so that you login and then have access to all your accounts (Main/Ascension/Forum) - surely it would not be that difficult to do?

It would also stop people selling Ascension and Main accounts separately.

can somebody explain me what GUI exactly is?

it would also have been great if quantum and chaos were integrated into it... that way it would truly be only one login screen...

Not really, Just a matter of redesigning the gui and linking them appropriately. I don't know how difficult it'd be to get phpbb to share the same database as the game though.

Whoa there sally, main,ascension and forums makes sense...but quantum?

ok, maybe not quantum, but at least chaos, that doesn't reset that often, so it shouldn't be a problem...

This would require that everyone have each type of account, and since your main, quantum, and chaos accounts are not all linked. that would be a problem. Also your forum account is not linked. Forum would have to find a way to link all the accounts coorectly. Maybe by Email Adderess.

it wouldn't neccesarily do that, as it could just be sections on the menus that are inactive, as they have not been used yet...

i agree. itd make it much easier. and why not include ALL SGW games? Chaos, Quantum, all by your own choosing to add tp menu. of course, there would be the factor of dif names there :p

one way of having all the games and the forum to have the same login screen and such would be to reduce the number of menus slightly, like merging all the preferences menus into one, so that it is there one sets which games are active, and change the names, upgrade and all that. this kind would also solve the different names problem...

And I already stated the suggestion was basically for the integration of ascended and main.

Easier for who? forum or you?

The fact is that ascended and main are the only servers that directly affect eachother; when you ascend more, you get more abilities on ascended...As you ascend you get more financial and tactical advantages on main because of your ascension. Its a logical step to integrate the two so that a) as wolf points out, it stops people selling ascended and main accounts seperately and b) allows those of us who build ascensions accounts a method to maintain both main and ascended accounts without having a forest of browser windows open.

The forum again, could easily be bypassed in the way they've done with IRC; setting a login page in the user preferences to allow you to access the forum. Then you could possibly implement that kind of change across the other servers, sure...but I think to integrate chaos, quantum etc. into a main/ascended gui would be a mistake.

i think a new gui and linking the forums ingame would be nice
