easy, happens all the time (well not all the time but is nothing rare or special)
2 people attacked him at the same moment. both got the loot and he got left with negative naq

the same thing happened with the market mercs. it was minus 170 defence mercs

Don't worry, there's rarely any naq there because it always is taken right on the turn change by somebody. I wish forum / gamemod would have just untrained all the miners and let us raid them.

Also you will get negative naq, when you bank all the naq and use the attack weapons until they are scrap. If you do this and then sell them without repairing, you will get negative naq. (Just happened to me ROFL )
