i know it has been suggested before but i think in a war game too many people are on PPT and a clock with a count down would be a great way to make this game more fun. just a thought

Would those that agreed to protect you give out that information? I didn't read the fine print closely, but I do not recollect any privacy statement. If you can be protected for money, why not sell the information about when your PPT runs out? Maybe have higher accuracy times cost more naq?

FYI, and this is especially for anybody that is being bullied, if you can afford ~7bill naq a week, or ~1300 turns, or a mix of these, you actually CAN stay out of harm's way FULL TIME. You can be on PPT for up to 96 hrs (4 days), and vacation mode for the rest. I don't see how a countdown clock would be all that useful, since if somebody is really scared, they can buy their new PPT or go on vac mode before the PPT they are already on expires, AD INFINITUM.
Also, if I am using PPT tactically to build up & then strike, I'd be a huge fool to wait until the moment it expires to make my move. I have an entire 48 hour period within which I can make a surprise visit upon my enemies. If PPTs were fixed for a full 48hrs, then a countdown clock would be a huge boost for those NOT on PPT. As it stands now, however, it would help those not on PPT, but only when stalking mostly inexperienced/unskilled players. Where is the fun in that?

No, you will be left open for 1 day. You can't have been on PPT or attacked/spied anyone for 24 hours before you can hit vacation.

and if you do that then your growth will be limited to only 4/7th of your potential. and as AA already pointed out you have to wait a day after a ppt ends. besides i wouldn't mind my enemy being scared of me and being on ppt and vac all the time. the less resources he is getting the stronger i will get in relation to him.
only stupid people are on protection the whole week. either they are stupid for gettign into reall big trouble they want to avoid at all costs or just because they do it even if no one specifically wants to eradicate them

Dearest Urogard, I don't even want to try this full-time protection tactic now, because you would then think I was stupid and we wouldn't be such good friends any more

. I'll grant you, it's not the best option in the world, but it is an option - you'd have to be above a certain threshold income to even be able to make money on 4/7 income after paying for two PPTs per week.
Once above that threshold of ~14bill naq income per week, however, especially for people with REALLY high incomes, it's a pretty tight insurance policy (except for the holiday it gets each week) which you happen to pay 3/7 (~43%) of your income+up (plus ~14bill naq) for each week. Not really worse than income tax

as i said i don't mind anyone who does that because his growth is severly limited
hmm, worse than income tax? well, depending on where you live.

Or they have other commitments, such as school, which suck up their time.

No doubt because of Esker and others' beautiful (but devious) use of this exploit to build monster accounts.

a firm no. it would turn ppt into a "next turn in x minutes" situation. and surprise is always useful

i think it would add a new dimension to the game if enemies could see when ur ppt exires.
if ur ppt is strategic then it doesnt matter so much cause i would never wait till the last minute anyways and odds on if its a war ppl know when ur coming off roughly anyways
it would spice up things

it would even be enough if it said something like morning/midday/afternoon/tomorrow...
not specific, but still gives an idea of when it ends...

yea, doesnt need to be exact but counterstrikes could be planned if a rough time was given. this could be shown on recons
your spies managed to access a computer port and found out PPT will be ending (for example) within 2hrs
