How much fleet strength do you need to make the planet's defence come down without destroying your fleets? Thanks in advance.

i think if they have twice your strength you get destroyed, so id guess more than half their strength?

I believe it's currently 1/10th of their planetary defense. I know for sure it's less than half, because I've massed planet defenses 4x my fleet power.

just build up about 3/4 of there def, and attack it until its yours
dont forget to have money to repair!

i would go 1/2 to 3/4 to be safe

but if you mass away a defence, the owner will often get super angry and destroy you (depending on thier power vs yours)

well to be honest id make sure your fleet strength is above their planet def....
when you mass a planet the owners usually get really annoyed to say the least....

The acctual limit is 1/5th before your fleets get totally wiped.

Hells__Angel is correct, the amount is 20%.

The damage your fleets take is also much higher the greater the disparity between your strike action and their defense. And planets with zero defense do almost no damage at all when you steal them.

There must be an element of fluctuation to this, as I have personally lost a planet with a defense of over 7 times the attackers fleet strength. My planets defense was 7bil, and it was taken (after much effort mind you) by someone whose fleet strength total was less than 1bil.
