Is it possible to mass away a defence even if it: 'managed to inflict devastating damage'?

No as the person you are attacking takes no unit losses and his/her weapons take no damage.

Ideally you want several times their defense in strike, that way the losses are smaller. If you don't care about losses, 1/4 of their defense in strike will do it, but it will take tons of turns and you better hope they aren't online to repair or you'll never get through.

Then once the defense is gone you can train up anti-cover to destroy their spies, and once the spies are down to a managable number you can start the sabs.

I remember Jix making a big post about massing a while back, might see if you can find it through search.

yeah, someone should make a 'massing for dummies' guide for this forum since it comes up so much.

To begin with send your MS searching for planet to avoid damage to your MS or if you want there MS taken down, attack with 1 at untill their MS is wiped out. MS doesnt care if you use 1 or 15 AT so that is a start..........

yes it does care because if you use 15 turns, the damage will be max but if you use 1 turn at a time, the damage is divided that will equal to the fullest damage.

Incorrect.

You will do the same damage with 1 turn as 15. I believe there is a variation in repairs and losses though.
