How about on FAILED recons/sabs, a percentage of those men were turned into miners, uu, covert ops, or anti covert ops on your side, prisioners of war so to speak.
POWs could even be a unit type, unraidable that can be sold (to a intergalactic market) or trained as a unit type i listed
Failed intellegence missions reveal all of the sender stats
Maybe this could be expanded onto Military assaults aswell. when a army failed to inflict any damage a percentage is captured as POWs, data revealed.
The Goa'uld unique tech is simular how about this be a new tech with goa'ulds getting a additional bonus to it or something.
ideas?
mine above is a brainstorm of several different things. :p

Giving the defender a benefit when the attack/sabotage/spy fails is an interesting idea. In a real war, a covert action against an enemy fortress would certainly have resulted in the deaths of many of the agents but some might have been captured.
It could be set up so that on a random percentage of the time, 30% of the agents would be captured instead of killed and immediately turned into lifers. It's unlikely that spies, once caught, would freely work for their enemy but could certainly be sold into slavery in the mines.
Nice idea.

I like this idea a lot as well. When someone attacks you it could be possible for you to stun people instead of killing them.

yea i know my initial post made little sence, so POWs as miners or units sold on the market would would good.

or when they are taken prisoner, they are interrogated untill they give up information about their home planet, or possibly help in sabotage against their former home in exchange for being able to leave the enemy realm peacefully if the sabotage is successfull.
or..... you have a choice to use the ones you capture to retaliate in sabotage, (doing massive damage since your new spies know their way around their former home planet) or sell them to the market.....

or of course keeping them.

Well even if they are just like untrained mercs then it could be fun as you could compare your numbers with other players, it would be fun for bragging rights alone.

good, but dont revelel the opposite players stats. in RL, the spies would kill themself before telling anything

that depends if they felt thier leaders had let them down by sending them into a situation without the proper numbers/support then they may feel betrayed enough to turncoat over lol
just look at the german double cross agents during the second world war its strange how intangible quality's like loyalty seem to become insubstatial when someone puts a very real gun (or staff wepon ect) to your head
but i do think it should depend on how outmatched the spies are for instance if they failed by a small margin they wouldnt feel betrayed by thier leaders but if they loose out by tons well then its anyones guess wich way they jump

good Idea I like it.... I'd love it if a failed spy/sab got me free miners... heck... they could be lifers for all I care
but its a good idea... gets my thumbs up!

sounds gd, its on the same sort of theme as the wounded units idea suggested by Hakem, rather than having units just killed all the time have things a bit more interesting with some more variety, i like

good idea the units could be use to make deffence or attack better by sending the captured units in to battle first.
