Very good books i love them!
there was also a small follow up book, called the Creature in the Case (i think)
great story though, even if its a bit depressing being all about Death and dead beings etc

yer the death part wasnt so crash hot but i had to read sabriel for school
how dare they give me a book that has a series lol, i went and brought the series anyways
