A Moment of Silence for 2006.

So many have died this year from the following and more.
1. Illness
2. Floods
3. Terrorism
4. War
5. Famine
the list goes on and on.
Rather then post wether or not this belongs here, and clouding my thread thus risking your own distruction. Kindly instead take a moment of silence. Then, post in this thread what you took that moment for.
To all those who serve, fight, and sometimes die in the service of their country. Regardless of their country. But most especially US Military - I remember you.
May 2007 hold less blood and more peace.
Bill
In Iraq, it's 2007.

.......................
I have had death in my family, and my wifes. I have had friends and co workers pass also. My thoughts are mostly with the leader of this world who hold our very lives in their hands. I am scared and I'm not ashamed to say that.

My 2006 was horrific on family, financial and health grounds. So I am glad to see the back of it, and look forward to what the New Year will bring.
My fare-thee-well to 2006 is "Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out"

My thought are that this year has cost me much: Family unity is toast, friends have disappeared off the radar due to their own RL issues, etc. and the list goes on.
The entire year has pretty much sucked. I echo Ubernoobs thoughts...good riddance and if i ever see ya' again it will be one time too many.

This is the Liverpool FC anthem, maybe it could have some relevance here...
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
I'll remember those that passed away, weather it be Military or Civilian. I've lost friends (Due to stupid arguements, like because i swear too much in RL

) Im loosing family relations with my parents... etc etc

I took a moment to remember my nephew who was born this year, for all of my friends and relatives who came back from Iraq and Afghanistan safe and alive; for those moments when people proved to me that life was a gift and a miracle, and as bad and as unfortunate as it is that people died, that there are people still alive that need our help so much more.
Sorry. I much prefer to focus on the positive in life and accept the bad things that I simply cannot change.

2006 has been a mixed year for me. some good parts, and some bad. I've been fortunate in that i haven't suffered any personal loses.
Probably the worse thing to hppen to me was when i nearly dropped out of university because of an error in calculating my end of year results. It was only by chance that i discovered the error.

3 women.....all psychotic.
1 = mistake
2 = bad luck
3 = a pattern
I am sooooo sorry.
I hope you break the pattern

2006 was a good year, apart from Blair and Bush attempting to take on the world, lets hope the consequences of their actions this year dont come and bite us in the ass in 2007, hopefully it will be with much less war and abit more peace and tollerance.
Happy new year all.

Just be greatful Blair is leaving, (he's stepping down from Prime Minister if you didn't know)
We will have to endure the wrath of Gorden Brown this year though

I knew, but he obviously wouldnt have stepped down if he knew his predassesor wasnt going to continue to do the dirty work. We need a change in political party, conservatives will hopefully get in next year, especially after blair annoyed so many people with the war on iraq and banned fox hunting.
