A proposal: the newb helping service

Since I noticed a lot of bigger players are bored, newest 'victim' of it being Bryan, I've got a suggestion. A time ago, someone came up with the idea of 'noob wars'. Since that doesn't fit with my quite pacifistic nature (just kidding ;)), why not the following:

each bored bigger player, takes on 5-10 newbie officers, with a joining date of the game of <1 month ago. They let them grow and teach them the proper way to play. With that, I mean NOT the way of some weaker but also some of the stronger COP-members are talking (examples: "I am COP. That is why I am allowed to mass you, and if you hit me, I'll make sure you are completely destroyed by COP", but then in more nasty words, of course), repeat, NOT that way, but respectfull towards each other, and massing if there is a reason for it like nasty PMs or massings/sabbings. Also, they teach them the proper reaction on being massed (so: in example, just massing them shortly, waiting for their reaction, if they fail to give the right reaction (no swearing, no deaththreaths and such stuff), just mass them again, untill they understood what the meaning of it is. :-D
Also, there could be set up an alliance for the whole group, so they also will experience the way of alliances and the alliance wars.
It is up to the CO if they want to make their officers only to a good account, or completely ascended :-D
Please tell me what you think of it :)

sounds like a good idea... would have been useful for us when we joined... therefore it should be useful for today's newbies...

great idea.
i'd have no problem with taking on some newbie officers, i may not be a Big player, but i can teach them the ins and outs of the game, i learnt them fairly quickly myself

why give up hard earned strategies. Besides there is the newbie FAQ section that i used plenty enough, newbs these days want to be spoon fed.

And also, what you said is pretty much what i have with my officers and i guess what most commanders have with their officers.

As official newb and noob, I call this idea.. way cool!
It's a mighty fine idea, BenjaminMS.

I think that most co's get their officers at least a nice UP, and big advice already though?

Unfortunatly most "Big Players" (no names) are either too busy, already have the max number of officers sucking their income away, or see no benefit, which there is.

The benefit being new players that will be experienced and will continue playing this game, in turn making the game grow since this former noob will tell his friends about this cool game he found with great, helpful people that play it. And when the game grows that means Admin will have to pay more attention to the game, thus causing more updates and new features to make the game more fun, and grow some more continuing the growth.

How bout we teach them to mass and hold there own and when they are bored like me and bryan and so many others they can mass too. and it cleans up the game some more

Seems like a decent idea. But this is what training alliances and recruiting commanders are for. Just need non-top ranking players to be more active and more organised so they can "hold their own". And if you can't do that yourself, how will you be able to maintain it?

Not sure what you mean there, do you mean to mass random people and get their reaction? :S

This is a nice idea in genral but like it was said, noobs thease days are being spoon fed. They are so spoiled that they think they can have what ever they want and go around bullying other noobs that wernt so luckeyt as to have some one make them strong. That and just building them up doens tteach them how to work for it, in that they wont be able to keep the account going with out some on eholding their hand.

wow i think that some people have to realise that teaching/learning how to play is one of the best experiences of the game. Well it allways was for me.

Maybe i will take it up again but its normally in the hand of an other mor warmonging generation of officers of me nowadays :-)

we agree, teaching the game is one of the best experiences in this game... when one does that, one learns even better to play it, and one doesnt have that many times when one has nothing to do...

Soo.. do we value both the learning and the teaching experience? :)

we at least feel so... we ourselves know more than the average newbie, but we do not know nearly as much as the top 100ish players and top 10 alliances... so we can both teach and learn...

sounds like a great idea, and maybe easier to do something about than all the ambitions about the n00b wars. I like it. Hope that it will come something from it.

Most good commanders acctually do this anyway.

Although to start 5 people from scratch would be fun lol.
