This game would have SAME caracteristics than in starting of the game well maybe not the killing uu and kill-all-weapons with a sabotage, but at least, no ascended races, no planets, no miners, no super soldiers, no ingame market, maybe motherships?
For graphics then we can discuss about it lol.
And this part can be criticzed I know

:
Only players with an ID of under 30k could access it (like when you go first in ascension) so bought accounts could access it also...
Discuss

sorry jim but back to basics would be boring as hell.
Although not all updates have been smooth rides I do beleive that for the main part they have enhanced the game and kept things interesting.

I agree - many players have left becasue the game, in their opinion, got worse - NOT better! Why? Because there is no strategic element left to it, because there is little consequence left becasue of one's actions.
At one time you would have to make a considered decision as to whether it was worth attacking someone for naq, or worth massing someone in retaliation, because things such as AT were a precious commodity, and such actions ight have put you in an undefendable situation should your action backfire on you. Now, people mass/attack/raid at the drop of a hat because there is always a supply of AT available.
It used to be that a lot of strategy was had in planning and having teh patience to gather resources for an attack, this was followed by a lot of fun and satisfaction by organising timings with people around the world to launch an attack against an enemy, and tehn preparing for the inevitable retaliation, but not knowing exactly when it would come!
Todays strategy consists of 'Buy AT - Raid - Buy AT - Raid - Buy AT - Raid...... ad infinitum!'
I'd say the game is definately MORE boring today than it was back then.

well in a way its more boring but in a way its better, i think its the people that have changed as well.
i mean way back when i started (im not that old in the game but arrived a full week before the motherships

), a page 1 alliance or any alliance could stay out of the game politics and just play for fun as a group working together mabe against another alliance or for the challenge of getting to page 1 or the top 10
now its almost imposible for page 1 alliance or most alliances to stay out of the games polotics eg atatck many alliances today and ull lose your stats for along time (and not just the CoP alliances its like that with most alliances now). before if you were careful you could have a good time and stay out of the big players way and get somewhere in the game at the same time. but times, the game and people have changed and now theres much less room to have a good time and stay out of big players way...im not saying thats bad its just different to how it use to be
in a way most of the updates serve to protect smaller players from the very powerful acounts and help new players rise up to the level of big players, eg raiding and nox insurance. which is fairly nescesary if you want to stay out of the big players way for along time since even if you do get in the way by accident or whatever, you can minimize what you lose and recover quicker
the games different to how it use to be but i wouldnt say the updates made it much worse... just different. its like call of duty 2 and 3, 3 played alot differently to 2 but it was still a good game even though everything changed alot. but then most people wont understand the metaphor so never mind
thats just my opinion, im not really old in the game but im not new
ofcourse this idea is a good compromise and does no harm. it gives everyone what they want so i think its a good idea

even though i wouldnt be allowed to play with my over 30k ID acount

i say get back to basics as well, i may have planets but i wouldn't miss them if the went
however i would like MS to stay
alas i fear that will never happen, admin has put way to much time and effort in trying to improve the game for him to just abandon it all now.
on a side note, i wonder how many of the old guard would return to the game if that were to happen?

The idea was a separate server, not to take a retro step in MAIN.

Indeed, as we all know, main will probably (uhh certainly

) never reset!
So it is for another server
