ok everyone, at this point i want to know where admin is!
over the past 8 months admin has grown more distant from the community he created, and now it looks like he cant even be bothered to post on forum anymore

what the hell is admin doing to improve security and protect our accounts?
admin is very accountable for the losses suffered by the 2 players that raided jtest and for Bryan's account being hacked 3 times!

3 times!!!!! thats like OMG WTH!!!! once is bad enough, twice is unthinkable, but 3 times.....WTH IS THAT ALL ABOUT???

as we all know jenny quit yesterday but I've had time to think about that and to be honest everyone....if the security of our accounts hinges on us being able to hide our IDs then there is something seriously wrong here!

this needs to be debated and debated seriously! so i want no flaming, finger pointing or any deviation from the topic at hand.

come on guys lets put our differences in game aside and get this sorted.

no disrespect intended here but, i for one don't want to be the next Bryan...........DO YOU?

I think Admin hates us

yes...we need more protection of our acccounts...i have an Idea for protection:)....Lock your account into an IP adress and that is the only place you can log on from...this will annoy some people because work etc...but if you want your account safe this is easier way to do it:) and try putting numbers aswell as letters in your password to mix your password up a bit so its not so easy to guess.

Don't you think you're making a mountain out of a molehill? Just because we cant see what admin is doing doesnt mean he isnt doing anything to help us. Admin, like the rest of us, has a life and cant be expected to be here 24/7 to do everything. I was lucky enough to speak with him on Meet The Admin day, and I can safely tell you that he would be doing everything he can to make sure stuff like this doesnt happen again.

Perhaps you should try being admin for a day, and then see if you have the time to do everything people have come to expect of him.

We have 2 powerful admins. Shaitan and Psi.
And Wolf.
And Reality.

What if it would be decided the Forums be completely seperate from the game?

At least people wouldn't EXPECT admin to read it.
And when he DOES read here and post here, that's a gift.

as for me making a mountain out of a mole hill....i think not!
you may have been lucky enough to speak with him but what about the rest of us? what about the 2 guys that have lost their accounts?? what about all the time and effort Bryan put into his account??? what about the resources that Bryan has lost and wont get back????

i don't care what updates admin is working on, he needs to put them on hold and get these security holes plugged ASAP!
no update is more important than an our accounts!
and i think we can all agree on that....don't you?

He does read the forums, and post too, just check the bugs section... anouncements and the vacation bug topic...

Also we had a meet the admin day, and more will come with time..

On the top of that, chaos just reseted... and admin DOES working on the security update to prevent hacks... so please everyone give him some time.

And forum admins not equal with game admins...

We have 2 game admins, Jason and Sue, and we have a GameMOD. Thats all i know of....

@ [AK]Avenger, Meet The Admin day was well publicised, it wasnt hard to get there, but thats not important. And I agree with you on the point that no update is more important than our accounts. But for all we know, we havent seen admin lately because he's trying to stop these hacks and mistake ostracizings.

it takes but a minute for him to inform us if that is indeed the case JOS.

i for one don't visit all parts of the forum, and I'm sure there are many others that do likewise.

a simple post on general would go along way to alleviating peeps anxiety over this, or even a simple ingame message on our home page so everyone can see what he's up to.

Well, I've seen Forum let two games go (that I know of) - Times of Conquest and Universequest - both became very buggy, forum hard to get hold of, game eventually ends up kind of dying (not sure about ToC atm, but Universquest died ages ago)

I don't think Forum would ever let that happen to this game - tis by far his most successful (that I know of) and he genuinely seems to enjoy working on it. He might not be as active on the forums as he used to, or on msn - there was a time you didn't need a special day to catch him on it. That being said, the game has expanded, and so the admins are obviously going to be in greater demand with fewer points of contact.

I still feel that jason could use help ingame (even if it is just ppl like Lego on a dev server coming up with new ideas) - but it is his game, and if he doesn't feel like sharing the responsibility, then it is his choice.

Well i agree that admin needs to get arround more often. i just posted on "my" rules topic that we needed input from above.


Nobody will disagree with the fact that we need somebody here with game admin rights that we can talk to. Sadly we have non arround

Mister forum hosted a chat the other day, and has said he wishes to make them more usual occurancies, and he is also hosting a chat for the moderators too....

admin runs and develops other games he improves codes on this one plus not to mention chaos q and ascended...
and on the contrary I have noticed his presence more since these events then prior to them

As have I.

He's doing what he can.

don't get me wrong here guys, i have the greatest respect for what admin has achieved here. its no easy thing to bring so many people together and hold them together for so long.

having said that...i haven't seen admin post on forum in months. but as i said already, i don't visit all parts of the forum

topics as important as Bryan's and the jtest hack should have been cause enough for admin to take the time out and post something.

i also think admin has the obligation to return said accounts to their pre-hacked state, after all it is his responsibility to make sure there are no loopholes and our responsibility to choose strong passwords.
