I don't know if I'm just having horrible horrible luck.. or if its a bug or something..

18:39 Australian anceint Attack defended 15 0 1 94,457 96,924 details
05:58 1st prime of heroher Attack defended 15 0 1 79,034 85,564 details

those are my attacks, in both accounts, my strike action was alot higher then their defensive action (in the account of AA, 50k higher)

so, do i just really suck or am i doing something wrong or what?

it's the random effect of battles i lost by about 200k when i beat out their defence stat-wise by about 200k power....

Was your target very far away? Your weapons suffer slightly over the distance they have to travel to get to their targets or if that makes no sense... you fire your gate weapons at someone right next to you in the list and he/she/it will feel the strike one heck of a lot more than someone 100 places beneath you.

-=StE=- helping, maybe.

I'm not sure, but I thought distance as in ranking positions only factored into the amount of naquadah received. I may be wrong however. I've seen attacks where I should have done way more damage but didn't.

Forum did point out the random factor involved in battle. It should however, only matter in a battle of (near) equals. If you far outgun your target you should be able to kick their ass anytime.

i don't think that overall rank count's for anything...in attack i mean...its just the Defensive Action ... a rondom factor....and some formulas.......u dont do muck damege because there must be a random factor there to...same as the power u attack/defence....and the amount of Naquadah u git from yor attack....
i myte be mustaking but i don't think i am...:P

i'm going to disagree here, i beat out someone by 200k attack to defence power, and i lost by 200-300k so you can lose up to HALF of your attack power on an attack, oh btw if you're going to bring up the ranking things, then know that this person was 2 ranks down(i think... it's around there at least!)

i don't think that it is a fixed nomer...200k-300k but reather a procentigy of yor power....as u sad it cand be up to 50% of yor power...but thet is +/-50%...so u can win agains a user thet hase a greater def than yor attach...;)

Then either your intel was wrong, (was it new intel or old intel), or the random factor is indeed bigger than I thought. That would explain why you're not always doing as much damage as you should.

i just thought, long shot here Psi but er... what if the target bought a new defensive weapon the moment you struck, altogether possible that ;)

you don't just lose half your attack power if your opponet buys a new weapon...

that just increases theirs...

i don't want to give you exact stats cause of the people near me who could know how much attack i have...

it's rare - but everyone here is right....

there is a random factor (again - attack AND defense are a range -- ie from xx to yy ... and you fall somewhere in that range each battle (where yy is your max, xx a % of max). this applies to attacker and defender.

travel distance downward (ie attacking lower rank) does decrease attack (overconfidence and travel wear....), while attacking up increases it (super-psyc attack!!)

if someone increases their stats between latest intel (intel is not 'real time') and when you attack, that will play a difference... (can you say 'sneak attack' or 'misleading information' .. .yup!) ranks are not realtime - weapons are... think on that one :)

all are correct!

my heart skipped a beat when you said realtime Forum heh, i thought you were about to reveal one of my sneakiest tactics... heheh.

realtime. lol. what's the opposite of realtime, and when does the opposite of realtime occur within the game, and when can that be applied tactically to everything that has been mentioned above?
