ALLIANCES?

What is an alliance do? I mean are the only benefits that you can transfer troops to all members of an alliance?
If it is just that you are associated with more powerful people i would think there would be just commanders and oficers.

Alliances have their own forums where you can talk about tactics, receive help, and generally hang out.
-They provide protection (safety in numbers)....sometimes a good name can stop an attack as good as an Asgard defence.
-Friends...they are a great way to meet people and receive help ingame....sharing resources and helping towards spy lvls.
Basically if you join a good alliance you should get help, protection, friendship and a lot more satisfaction out of the game.....in my opinion.

What would be a good Goauld or joint Goauld/Tauri alliance?

May I recommend you check out the Alliance board. You should find a lot of Goa'uld alliances, or mixed race alliances (although off the top of my head I can't think a specifically Goa'uld/Tauri one).

There are plenty of alliances that would accept a Goa'uld just go to the Alliance section and post a thread saying what you are looking for.
