Negative Losses When Attacking (gaining units?)

Okay, now I have the whole issue:

1.) Bug description
If someone has more merc than the limit... and he has more merc from a type, like def mercs, the other type can go negative, because the losses are not counted for each type properly. This leads to a situation where someone attack with negative merc count, and loose negative troops count... which is confusing

3.) Steps to take to replicate the bug
For example buy 100 attack mercs, and way overlimit defense mercs. Wait a few turns, than you will have negative attack merc count. After that attack someone, and you will loose negative troop count.. (not sure if you have to have armed normal soldiers to attack...)

4.) Results of bug as it stands
PPL loosing negative troop counts... therefore gaining mercs if I'm right...

Original post:

Ok so I'm farming and I look down at my attack logs and it seems everytime I attack someone, somehow I'm gaining units in my losses!

For Example:

The forces of ***** fought back with all they could, and managed to inflict 3 damage on Taxonomist3's forces!
Judging from the troop and army makeup, 0 of that damage came from support planets.
They managed to eradicate -6 of Taxonomist3's troops.

That's just weird... however I think it may have to do with the negative numbers I seem to have of my attack merc:
Attacking Mercenaries -58

Anyway, I'm not sure what to do about this, so I shall carry on... I hope I won't be considered abusing a bug or anything.

A silly bug indeed. As lose your mercs because you are over the limit, your attack mercs seem to keep subtracting from your total before it goes onto your defense mercs(if it ever does? :? )

Apparently this means when attacking you also lose negative units. That answers a question someone else had I believe. I am not actually sure if it is 'abusing' a bug or not, but you can always sell defense mercs to get yourself under the limit again, and then buy enough attack to get you to 0. That would solve the problem I am guessing . Still, Forum should look into it :P

I wonder if you had -1000 attack mercs equipped with weapons if your strike would be negative aswell(assuming you didn't have enough supers attack units trained to negate the effect). And if that did happen, what the game would do about it

Judging from that they shouldn't have killed any of your units anyway, even if they were positive loses. This bug is stranger than I thought....
