You can have a maximum of 32,625 Trained Mercs.
theres a war going on, most of us have no soldiers and because of that cant buy mercs hehe

see just do this
train about 16million atcks units just plain atcks and buy all the mercs 16million of them untrain all atk units and train them back into something else man all those mercs and mass some1 really big plain and simple...all u lose is naq since mercs are cheap meat shields right?

You don't need 16mil trained troops to buy them, you can always buy as many as you want. It's just 1% will leave if you're over your limit, so once you untrain those troops, you'll probably be over the limit, unless you have a nice amount of trained Defence troops lieing around...

Hmm, before the war and before the merc update it used to be 10-15 bil defense per 1 bil of naq safely defended. I can only wonder what amount that will jump to with all the practically free mercs available

You cant buy as many as you like, you can only buy up too a certain percentage of your military attack force.
