I hate to say this, but dont use generaloneil as an example to judge CiA by.

Well, it certainly is of importance, but one shouldn't look only at army size. He could still farm every turn and would still be a part of the war.
Of course there's a big difference is someone powerful leaves then a "lesser" player (not that I'm implying we guys are anything less than the big guys
).

I would prefer a good friend and loyal member to be allied with me rather than just a big army powerhouse

Yep, in this war a 100k army guy can do a lot of damage by just farming. size means something at the beginning of the war, but ultimately, after the first day ir two, it's not worth a whole lot.

A little context here:
This guy left his alliance in the middle of a fight,
This guy posts about it as if its some huge event
Now if someone posts a whole thread just to announce they are leaving an alliance, you normally presume that person at least is more important than a foot soldier- i would understand if maybe J.S declared it, but just some randomer. In this case I think GeneralOneil was perfectly correct.

No, I'm not, but I do think that he should have an idea of his importance, posting his quiting in the CoP v. CIA thread and just letting it be, rather than making a huge deal over it. He has a voice, he's just shouting too loud.

He left because he didn't agree with what his alliance was fighting for. That's not cowardice, that's standing up for what you believe.

I agree size is not important, I do not believe this is something that needs to be highlighted really as I believe oneill was referring to the stature of the character, as was pointed out above perhaps someone like JS or Bad Wolf himself leaving the alliance would be something to note.
