pandora.com is an newer internet radio site. You type in a song or band name, and it builds a list of songs that are similar to it, many of which you probably haven't heard before. Their music lisences don't allow them to play specific songs by immediate request, and you can only skip about 15 songs per hour, but overall its a decent site the deserves a look.
It's free to use, but you can pay to get rid of the ads.
