MS Attack

My officer is currently being harrassed by another player who is significantly weaker than him but, his MS is 2-3 times more powerful than my officer's.

Getting to the point: My officer has been massed by 1AT hits, all the attacks have been defended and have delt "devastating damage." How is his (the enemy) MS able to attack if the attack was completely defended?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The forces of ****** slaughtered those of ******
The forces of ****** flee from the battlefield! One could see glory on the face of the victors, and spite on the defeated!

The forces of ****** could not secure a foothold in the realms of ******!
The armies of ****** were forced out of the realm of ****** in a none to glorious fashion! The defending forces were simply too much for them....
There are lessons to be learned here - old cliches of your race abound... biting and chewing...eyes and stomach...enemies and friends... too little too late.. stitch in time...books and covers --- but... one would guess that those defeated who lived were simply thankful for escape at the time, and running to become better prepared for the next excursion. It is sure that ****** will be considering a return visit to ******!

One additional fact: the forces of ****** were so completely overwhelmed that they could not even breach the perimiter of ******! As a result, it appears that the weapons and forces of ****** suffered no damage!! Was it a suicide run? Proving some sort of unknown \'point\'? Or maybe a tactical strike to recon the strength of the opposition? Nobody is 100% sure, but one thing is sure: the attack was eliminated before they even got close, and had no effect on the target!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think damage to my officer's MS is still an effect.

Point1: If the enemy was so overwhelmed that they couldn't even breach the outskirts of my officer's realm then how is it that their MS's engaged and damaged each other?

*Point2: If you attack with 15AT both sides suffer max damage but, if you attack with 1AT your damage will be smaller compared to your victim's. In a sense the more AT's you use, the more time you spend in the enemies realm and therefore each suffers more damage. Attacking with 1AT would mean that it's a quick strike but, less powerful, so less damage; since you have less time.

*Suggestion 1: Increase the cost of MS weapons. This would make it harder for people (I'm not sure I'd classify him as human) like this to exist. At this point 2.5mil isn't a lot of money.... Anyways who wants to see an account with a 9bil Att. and 12def on an account with a 100k Armysize. (that's a real stat)

*Suggestion 2: If the attack is defended(normaly) the attacker's MS would suffer more damage then the defender's. If the attack is defended(Devastating damage) then neither MS would suffer damage because you couldn't even penetrate the outskirts of their realm.

*Comment: These adjustments would make massing a little more challenging but, that's the point of playing any game; you want to be challenged. What's the point of playing if their's no challenge.

Questions, comments, suggestions?

This is a tactic used by many. MS killers are specialists in war time. The MS attacks differently then ground troops. The best way to handle this guy is to mass his MS in the ground.

Caught him in the open.... :P His MS has been totally destroyed. Costed me quite a bit...

This brings up another point: You may only send your MS out after 24 hours of inactivity.

What do you think of this?

Yuck. Sending away your mother ship is a strategy, nothing more. I think if we keep inventing rules to limit strategy in the game, we'll be reduced to a single button for all game play. Log in once a day, press button, log out. Fun.

Let me clarify: You may only send your MS out 3-4 days a week on recon.

I've edited my first post since I was sleep deprived when I wrote it.. :P Try reading only this post and my first post ... The other posts I made.. I was still sleep deprived..

Reiteration: The only problem I have is when someone with 5attack weapons and a MS with a 9bil strike and 12bil def. Come's and "masses" me ( MS is the only damage I recieved). My MS is severely damaged afterwards. So how can your MS's still engage when you have defended their 1AT attack and inflicted devestating damage on them (your assailent)? (Ex: 200mil Att. / 40bil Def.)

Opinion: This really needs to be changed... I don't mind if my MS gets massed because I'll mass their's right back. It's a problem when someone masses me and then run away by immediately sending their MS to look for planets. He has done this for the past week and I am not the first to experience this.

This tactic seems like an exploit  Makes their MS relatively impossible to hit... an invincible MS...

P.S. My officer has sent a PM to the AdminMark concerning this issue. Although I'm not sure how good he explained it :P

In my eyes, sending your mothership away after an attack is no different than massing someone then immediately jumping on PPT or selling off your defense weapons. It's just a strategy.

P.S. AdminMark is the game mod, not the game administrator. From what I understand, the game mod doesn't make changes to the game itself; instead, they function as the game "police", so to speak.
