Alliances/High Councils

Now instead of God questing everyone and people faking their tags which is disgraceful suffice to say, that I propose that Alliances called High Councils be put in play.

Now there is probably a suggesting about this and stuff, but I am sure not one like this.

Link the Main Alliances with Ascended High Councils.

Also, have High Councils which can set Peace or war with each other just that like, which would mean the whole high council members are set peace in just a push of a button by the high council leader or the 2nd in command.

Then there can be a second part to the super weapon as you have the single shot super weapon so why not an high council strike super weapon. I will make another thread for the high council super weapon.

Benefits:
You can find people's accounts easily
Would look funny to see the powers of each alliance
Stop people from faking tags
Set all members to peace or war or neutral according to Leader or 2IC decision.
Strike high councils with high council super weapon

Bad things:
You leave an alliance in either Main or Ascended and you leave the alliance in both, you join one you join both. Total sync.
If you get hit by High council super weapon you all get hit.

We already talked about this on msn, and I really like the idea, alliances are pretty much there anyway with the tags and everything, but people want to see the power! :-)

And people would rather have a war on both ascended and main EASILY, you find your enemy in a matter of seconds, just look at alliance in main and find High council in Ascension.

People without an alliance but still ascended just go on their way.

Quit alliance in main quit high council in ascension
Quit high council in ascension and quit alliance in main

I personally dont want to see alliances in ascended.

If they dont want to be found in ascended then you wont be forming alliances so its pointless. It will be just like alliance wars in main. They are no useless and pointless.

We don't need alliances in ascension. Ascension is about individuals not groups.

:Cough: That wasn't necessary...
and if we remember back, the intent of ascension was for individual play... a 'skill' server.
Obviously, we cannot completely remove alliances, but there is still a great difference in mood between main and Ascension, partly because of the lack of direct commanders and alliances.

i for one, say we keep it the way it is... leave alliances as relatively underground organizations. Make people work a little to exercise cohesion.

Yes some of you guys are right and ascended is the "skill" server, but look at how many people play it compared to how many are ascended. Think about that, do we really want to run out of people to attack one day?

And the whole point of faking tags. Meaning some person who does not like say Omega, puts on an Omega tag and that person could be an awesome farm and you are just like nah he/she is Omegan. Just common sense really.

Also the whole deal of god questing people to get their id's. Very slow compared to how you could search for them in alliance/High council forms.

Think about this, the earlier you started the more advantage you got, is that skill or is that first come first serve?
Of course you can make your ascensions better by getting more APP, but think about this, you are a first time ascendy, what do you know about APP helping in ascension? Near to nothing. Then look at the earlier people like ETL, Sinister and Mojo, they knew about the whole APP thing and look where they are in the game. It is more of a first come first serve game. Pretty much no one can catch up to Mojo and Sinister, is that skill? Nope.

Rest my case :-D

Believe me, I hold no illusions of a level playing field after Jaun's antics on ATW.

That does not mean, however, that we don't throw even a semblance of what it 'should' have been to those gathering G&R. Ascended wars was not supposed to be main with different named weapons, it was supposed to have a different feel to it.

I don't think fully implemented alliances will help it maintain/create that unique feel. To be sure, there are problems with alliance tag faking; sending abusive PM's or getting farmed. But then, more fun for Omega when the farmer returns to main yes? You were speaking of legit target creation?

As it stands, the primary grievances seem to stem from alliances.
I for one, would like to give the individual a fighting chance, make his enemies exercise a little brainpower and time to track him down; rather than having a hundred brain-dead and wild alliance members click on an "enemy alliance, attack distribution super weapon" button; make them visit their alliance forum and gather the Intel.

Such doesn't hurt Omega; it costs them time... but they're skilled enough, and cohesive enough that it shouldn't bother them. But then, if an individual was planning on surviving at all, they wouldn't be messing with Omega in the first place; and would stand a much better change against the el-n00bolo alliance of equal ranked players they might just farm.

As for alliance on alliance... again, I believe the current mental requirements help brings things away from 'I can hit the button faster than you'; For example, I'm sure you know just how much of a n00bish alliance's firepower can be crushed simply by making it's members visit the alliance forum. Let alone having them register... :P





I believe forum needs to work on a few other changes; mostly fixes that the community has brought up... before we hand over the ghost of uniqueness, and make this another main; We're close enough as it is.
