Meh you only need tech so that you don't get farmed, and that you can farm, The rest is a waste at the moment, IT's all about UP.

Mine are over 300.
It's all a matter of personal preference really, the techs have great pluses and minuses tactically, they are to be explored like everything else before you can best fit them into your style of play.
I like getting them up as fast as possible because then if i get massed (for instance if my tech on def is 200) i only lose/have to replace 1/3rd the weaponry i would lose at the same rank with no 200 tech. Also attack techs/mothership techs pay off if used wisely, consider the amount of unit deaths, my strike value consists of weapons manned by 1/3rd as many men as someone with the same strike as me but 0 tech.
At the end of the day it depends upon what you see as important to your personal playing style.

just get a nice def and ms. . then work on up as no one can take your naq. . lol. . thats all u need to do. . at this moment if anyone masses your def or destroy your ms. . u still have a lot of time to get it back . . so no problem. . with a big up at least ull have the chance to rebuilt soon enough. . thats what really matters in q. ..
