Ive heard a rumor that Jason is upgrading the fourm to php 3.0 or some new version and using some new plugins to make it so fourm accounts and ingame accounts are linked, as well as a feature to ban proxies (no clue how thats possible tho......)


Is this true ?

proxy banning is easy.

No. Admin has stated directly he will not link ingame and the forums. Period.

Proxy banning is BS. When in public, I route all of my traffic through an encrypted proxy I run on my home machine so my traffic cannot be snooped without much effort(like breaking an RSA encryption key).

You know, there are valid uses for proxies. Heck, at work we route all http traffic through a proxy, so is my connection from work being banned?

I use proxies to get through the school network...

and I'm sure many others face similar situations...
Forum would not ban proxies for the sheer number of people who have legitamate reasons to use them

our school got angry from all the people using proxies at our school to go to websites so basically every proxy ever is blocked at my school =[

well, the way I get passed the proxy block is by using news sites like digg.com the find the NEWEST proxies. This way, I can keep right ahead of the updating system.

nope... phpbb 3.0 is only in beta 5 currently so i doubt he would do it before the actual proper release

it will be done asap when a converter is released, admin said so last night

the forums are to our knowledge NOT going to be linked... but the forum is going to be updated to phpBB 3.0 once that is released, and a 2.0 --> 3.0 converter is available...
