Not doing very well!

Hi Folks,

Having a good time with Stargate Wars so far, but I'm puzzled about something...

I have been building up my forces and armoury, with approx 1200 defensive troops ad about 600 of them with weaponry, total defensive value around the 5.5m mark.

I was recently attacked by someone, the stats were as follows:

Player sent 15 Offensive NID team and 85 offensive away team.

Armed with: 15 X302 craft, 39 X302 Craft and 46 RPG.

I replied with 12 Defensive NID, and 1204 Home base guard armed as follows:

12 Defensive NID Team have Ion Cannon
102 Home Base Guard have Ion Cannon
150 Home Base Guard have Satellite Laser
188 Home Base Guard have Personelle Tank
2 Home Base Guard have Machine Gun Turret
762 Home Base Guard came unarmed!

The result was:
I killed 2 of his troops, he killed 24 of mine.
I did 3.1m damage to him, he did 3.8m damage to me.

I would have thought that I seriously outnumbered him and yet he walked all over me.

What have I not done?

I am Tauri. I am building up my armourments for the defensive troops, not doing much with offensive troops at the moment - just trying to defend myself from what are becoming fairly regular attacks :(

I've raised my covert level to Level 8, unit production is about 80 per day at the moment - will resume increasing it once I have finished arming my existing trained troops.

Any help and suggestions in defending myself greatly appreciated, i'll worry about attacking people later on :)

Many thanks!
Matt

I'm guessing it's because he had less troops with slightly more powerful weapons. A smaller army is harder to hit, so he had less casualties than you did. That's about all that could have happened...if the attacks are really bothering you, just PM me with the enemy's name, I'd be happy to sabotage every weapon in their armory for you. And pay no attention to the rumors floating around about me being an evil spammer... I'm a good guy once you get to know me.

first, i'd like you to know, that tau'ri have a disadvantage on defence.
they make up for it with an awesomely insane attack action bonus.

so your best bet as a tau'ri is to not worry about defence so much, and focus on making your attacks your main income.
alot of good tau'ri do this, and they're quite powerful.

this i just my suggestion to you.
in light of your race.

the only weapons worth buying are the most powerful... anything less are less cost efficient, and not worth your hard pillaged naq.

Once you play this game a little longer, the low weapons can be nice to deflect sabotage...when you are sabbed the first weapons that are hit are your smaller weapons and then go up in strength. So although not that important for attack or defense, they are often a good way to protect your realm from other sources.

Another reason for this could be taht becasue you ahve some many troops unarmed they are actaully easier to kill.

For example, Would it be easier to shoot down a fleet of unarmed f-18s or 1 armed f-18?

it'd be just as easy to shoot down armed as it would be unarmed..

Also, do you have your seige levels upgraded?

not really. maybe that was a bad example.

Diffrent one. would it be easier ot storm a police station unarmed or armed?

your point being?

Anyway DeathshotShooter's point was that armed soldiers are harder to kill than unarmed.

you wont be able to stop the attacks the stronger you get the stronger people will attack untill you become near the top 10 in defence or something like that just work on attack and get strong like that then you can get defence the best way to get strong is to become my officer. im right no one else is ...

Firstly hidden, no recruiting outside of the Recruitment Center.

Secondly, harassing 'Newbies' (see the board title?) to be your officer smacks of desperation somewhat. Perhaps it would be better for these folk to look in the Recruitment Center and pick a good commander who suits them, rather than pick the guy who hangs around trying to pick up Newbies.
