Firefox doesnt seem to work on my pc.
Its very very fustrating, I go to my start menu and click firefox, it comes up, and then just does nothing, and then says not responding.
I have tried reinstalling it several times and no change in result.
Anyone got any suggestions?
And also, are there any other decent browsers apart from Firefox, IE and Opera?

I had a problem with FF a while ago whereby if i let it run for more than 5 minutes i needed to reboot my PC

I tried reinstalling it a couple of times but it didnt work. Then i got a virus and had to format my HDD so it works again now.
Also i haven't heard of any other browsers out there.

Do you have norton/symantect? I know there are reports of Norton really messing with FF, and sometimes I have to shut down Zone Alarm to browse on FF.
Other than that (disabling anti-virus/spyware/firewalls), you can try downloading from a differant mirror or host, download the latest extensions, (maybe agent switcher?).

Netscape maybe? Or konqueror if you're willing to do some hoop jumping.

weird, I had the exact same problem with FF... I tried totally removing any trace of it on my comp before reinstalling it, but the same problem occured, I don't have norton either.
if you like firefox I recommend getting Flock. It's from the makers of FF, besides some differences it's pretty much the same thing. and I have had no problems with it

Try disabling any firewall or anti-virus that is set to scan internet traffic (ie. the sites you visit). You may have to go well and truly into the settings for the programs to find those settings.

Disabling firewalls is NOT a solution.
Go into the settings, look for execptions. Add firefox.
Viola, firewall no longer considers FF something to block.

Dude, I've had that same problem with my firefox too for about a year so I just gave up on it after reinstalling and stuff like that. I'll try the unblock thing tommorow, going to bed.

also if ou guys happen to have Windows one care (anti virus/firewall )
it causses a reloading glitch after a period of time as in the redirection SGW uses when attacking raiding etc... which will cause your computer to completely freeze resulting in need of a hard boot
so its best to eith unsuscribe to it or turn it off completely .. and exceptions dont work .. FF's coding interferes with Windows Onecare its a known problem which Mozilla / Firefox will be looking into

I have FF and don;t have any problems with SGW. In fact, it runs better on FF than IE. The only problem is with the spell checker it offers now...
this might help:

or asking about it here:
